Those looking for a pin....Instead of calling...

Hmmm.

There was a PIN offer for a person with the same first and last name - different email address so it isn't me.

I wonder how the system differentiates between people with the same first and last names?

first+middle+last?

first+middleinitial+last?

first+last+middle?

first+last+middleinitial?

I tried all of the above and none of them returned a PIN, but it doesn't prove how the system is programmed - just that I don't have a PIN...

Anyone try anything that might shed light on how it works?

Wow just scrolled down and noticed the email address associated with the pin (did johndoe). This has to be a glitch that you can look at things this way. I would imagine that Disney could get in trouble allowing anyone who knows about this to check someones name and get access to their email if they did indeed have a pin.

I finally got it to work & found one under my DSD name. Probably because she just took a trip without us in January

Wow! How cool!
I just tried it and got the 30% under my name! I've never had a code before! Nothing under Dhs name though.
Wow, I'd love to go back at Christmas! LOL!

Sorry---- I am having trouble also --- Do I go to the Real Disney site 1 st? or Do I google the site you listed ?????

no type in exactly what the OP stated. If you have a pin it will come up on that page.

I got the 30% off pin code too!!:woohoo: This is my first one. THank you so much to the person who started this thread. I never would have known about my pin code with out it.

Is it only good for people that get pins via email? I've tried a few different friends that I know recently got post cards in the mail, and theirs didn't come up... however another friend did who is considering a trip next Jan. (I told her I would watch prices for her). It had her email associated with it, saying it had been sent to the email.

How do you let Disney know you want email offers? I've always gotten offers in the mail, and I'd love to get them via email as well/instead.

Those of you that found a pin did you enter the name all in lower case or does it not matter?

I'm just guessing but it seems that that URL works for people for people whom Disney intended that specific code offer... 20-30%. So maybe if there were URLs for other specific codes others might have theirs under those. I have never ever gotten a pin code by mail but I have gotten a couple by email. I wonder if there were URLs on the emails.

So glad the OP's info is helping people out. After all, it was Disney's intention for the people to receive the codes so it is all good.

I got the pin on a postcard in the mail with the URL on it to see it online. At first I thought the point of giving me the URL was to allow me to book online with the pin, but that's not the case. Maybe they were hoping this little tip would get out to cut down on "do I have I a pin" calls :rotfl:

Oh, and for the dozen of times I had tried my name in all its possible contortions I had copied and pasted the URL directly from her post up through the / and then just recopied it every time I wanted to try a new possibility.

I currently have 2 pins associated with my name but the URL did not work for me. I don't have a popular name either.

Alright...I feel like a kid who woke up to no presents under the Christmas tree...:guilty: I don't have a pin, have called and asked several times, never gotten anything in the mail or email and I am registered under the website,so is my hubby, and ordered the DVD. I am ready to throw in the towel!

Okay, I've poured all over my postcard from the mail, and there is no URL. I did plug in a few names of friends I know, and found a code for one... called her knowing she was wanting to go in Jan, and let her know to shoot for Dec to get 20% off. She told me today she's booking for Dec! :thumbsup2

It worked for my sisters name for 30% off during Nov & Dec. Luckily... we got a pin for 40% for the same times back in February and booked it! YAY! Going for 6 nights 7 days, 4 day base ticket and dining for $622 a person at the POP!
