We can fly from either BWI or PHL. We would actually like to fly to MCO Wed., Thurs., or Fri. (of T. week to see relatives).

Is there hope?

The best flight rate I ever got was T-giving day 2005, a ding from Pittsburgh, $39. I had reserved to the fact I was going to drive down and about 2-3 weeks out this came up and actually was cheaper than gas would have been. Yes Jenn, there are DINGS on holidays!

Hoping this works out for me as well. We need to get down to the Port for our DCL on Nov 25th. We planned on arriving Friday and staying over - forgetting the American Thanksgiving was on Nov 23rd!! So, now I am stressing about driving over the boarder to catch our flight out of Buffalo, there are NO discount flights available for SWA, and my original plan to fly out of Toronto has totally crumbled!!!!!! Oh well, the joys of planning. I still have fingers crossed that SWA will open up some of those great deals closer to the actual day. Someone had suggested actually travelling on Thanksgiving, as alot of people will (obviously) be with their family and friends. Anyone travelled on the actual Thanksgiving day before??

Good to see I am not alone in the wait game! We actually don't need to check in to our villa until Sat. Nov 25th. But my Mommom really wants us to come see her in Ft Meyers before going to Disney. So we are looking for anything the week of Thanksgiving.

Our last two trips to MCO have been made on Thanksgiving Day. The airport was DEAD. According to a gate attendant the airport was a madhouse the day BEFORE Thanksgiving Day and slow the day OF. Most people want to travel in the days before so they'll be there to celebrate with the family. The last two years the price for air travel have been lower on T-Day too.

We loved flying Thanksgiving Day. I don't remember our airfare but I know it was reasonable, I think it was $175 from Hartford.

The airport was empty and the plane was pretty empty too. There were seven of us and we were all able to take our own row.

We flew Delta/Song on that trip.

We flew out of RDU last year the day after Thanksgiving to Orlando. We got a ding fare in September for $28 each way!!!!! I got 8 round trip tickets for $599!!! I am hoping for great luck like that again this year when we go down Dec. 16th. I didnt think I would get a ding last year because it was Thanksgiving week, but we got a GREAT one! Good luck and I am sure it will happen for you. Just keep yourself GLUED to the computer once they release the dings for your time frame. I cant wait to get my airline tickets behind me. Its the only part of trip planning I hate!
