Those Disney Smells, do you ever have one?

I wholeheartedly agree. First time I walked in that lobby I was 5 years old, and it is a moment you NEVER forget.

I stay at Fort Wilderness and the morning smell of the trees is like a basket of fruit. I live in NH and I don't get to smell that wonderful FW air as much as I would like.

Will smell it again on May 7th when I get up the first morning at FW

Growing up we would always stay at the Contempory and walking down the halls had a certain smell and sometimes I can smell it in other places when I am out and about..

I had one last week. A school bus was pulling out and I got a big whiff of diesel exhaust and it smelled just like the Disney bus!!!

I drive a school bus and sometimes my brakes sound like the brakes on a Disney bus.
Also, in the summer if I smell a swampy type of smell, it reminds me of some of the attractions that have water in them. I smell it in the morning on a hot day. Maybe its a musty type of smell.

I can't wait to go back.

I was @ an art show one weekend and they were toasting almonds!!! I asked my dh, " do u smell that"? Oh, it's my toasted almonds I get in MGM every trip! I love them!!

i love how we can match our smells to the greatest place on earth!
i was at the gas station this morning and it smelt like the place in Florida where we get our doughnuts before rollin into WDW. I was so happy I almost cried no joke

I used a laundry detergent that smelled like the pine tree smell on "Soarin'". (That's why I bought it!! )

We have driven to WDW 2 out of the 4 times we've gone. Sometimes when we get in the van, it smells like it does on the trip down and my sis and i yell, "It smells like Disney!"

I know and love the humid smell when you first step out of the airport!!

Seeing the palm trees is just breath taking for me!!!

Its snowing here in Cleveland on our first day of spring break. I hate it.
We could hardly see on the freeway tonight the snow was coming down so heavy. It looks pretty but it just really sucks!

I told my DH as soon as he retires we just have to move. I cant see living my whole life here. To bad thats 35 years away! Must plan more trips!!

This is an old one. I was very blessed as a child to have parents who bought us annual passes. The first thing we always did was ride Spaceship Earth. The smell of Rome burning for some reason reminds me of all those trips as a child.

The other one is the orange smell from Horizons. Whenever I smell oranges, I think of Horizons and all its cheesiness.

i feel the same way! i loved horizons as a kid. i always bring up the orange smell to my family. especially during soarin, which reminds me of the oranges in horizons.

wallgreens suntan lotion... put some on the other day for the first time since my last holiday in July. Not much sun or heat here in Ireland and all i could think of is it smells like disney and reminded me of how much i hate putting some on my face. I'm hooked

At my work, there is a breeze-way between the parking garage and the hospital that always smells like the lobby of the Polynesian. It's especially strong on a sunny evening after rain. I guess it's just the humidity and the planters there, but it makes me suck in a deep breath and smile every time! Only 5 more months.

Haven't read the whole thread yet so mine might be on here. BUT, how about the sawdust/pine tree smell from WL? It seemed to be stronger in the lobby of the VWL than the main lobby. THAT'S the smell of "home" for me!

I love the smell of Disney Mornings,when you wake up in the a.m. go out on your balcony and smell breakfast and the humid air.

The water rides definitely, and indelible smell. Sometimes at the mall or wherever there is a fountain or such, I get a whiff and it brings me right back to pirates, small world, etc...I actually like the smell! I'm always saying to DH, 'smell that?' He's says 'pirates!' and we laugh.

We grill and smoke meat a lot in the summer, whenever we have BBQ it totally brings me back to the Wilderness Lodge Lobby.

The gift shops even have a smell. Sometimes if you sneak into a disney store you can catch a whiff.

Also, someone mentioned starting new lotions etc. On a trip probably 7 years ago I started using proactiv, to this day when I use it, I smell my room at the Wilderness Lodge.

Can't wait to smell those smells in 10 days! Maybe I will find some new ones to report!

I have gone to Disney several times in the past during the first week of May. During this time is the EPCOT flower show and everything is in full bloom. Two years ago while working at Lowes, I went outside very early in the morning right after all the sprinklers went off from the night before and it smelled like a Disney morning. I called my mom right away on the cell and told her "I SMELL DISNEY!!!!!!!!!!!!"
