I know some of you have been to Thorpe Park and so I am hoping you might be able to help. We are planning to visit next Saturday but I have read on the ride info for Saw - The Ride that you have to wear 'sturdy footwear - no sandals please'. Can anyone who has ridden please tell me how strict they are as I was planning to wear my trusty Crocs Cleos but we don't want to risk not being able to ride.

its the same actual ride as the theme park i used to work at (adventure island in essex, we had it first!) and they say no loose shoes because it goes upside down. but just take your crocs off and leave them on the loading platform, you'll be fine.

the load and unload are not at the same place, (about 10-15 feet apart) all bags need to check in storage as well, not sure on footwear but they were checking ANY bag big or small

cleos you might be fine with (think its the foam sponge ones with the string through your toes that are a nono)
check with the guy at the ride entrace checking the heights, he should be able to help.

Thanks for both of your replies. I had a phone call from Thorpe Park today, following an Email I sent them a couple of days ago and the shoes I want to wear are just fine :) Great customer service from Thorpe Park :thumbsup2

Cool :thumbsup2

Does that mean I will get away with my high heeled sling backs with toe post - or should I go for something a little more conservative, what with me walking all day :confused3

Kenny, I'm confused - I thought you were saving them for Sunday to go with your pink polka-dot puffball skirt :confused3

Lmao!
Joh, just wanted to let you know that there is a floor to the Saw car and a sloped bit in front of your feet where I always push my feet against to brace myself, so just extra reassurance that your shoes will be safe. Have a fab time!

We are really looking forward to it too :thumbsup2
DD is in full on theme park mode and has been scouring the Thorpe Park site making a list of what she wants us to do.
Now I just need to figure out how to get Mrs Pegasus on Saw :scratchin

And hoping that the pub next door to the hotel has a TV of course - just in case England make it to the next round

It wouldn't look too sexy, but you could always keep some men's socks in your bag, and then keep them with you in the queue and put them over your shoes before you ride.

Should hold them on your feet. :)
