Whew! What a day! DS went in for eye surgery this morning. (He is 3) It was all OK until they nurses wanted to take him back. He said "Mommy save me!" I knew they should have given us both seditives. I'm still mad they didn't give him one. I know he won't remember it too much but it seemed so hard on him when they took him away. And he woke up in a REALLY bad mood. Screaming crying. It wasn't pain, they had given him something before he awoke, he was just scared. He did pretty good today, we relaxed together most of the day. He ate and drank all the time it seemed. The stitches are on the inside but his eyes still look bad. Keep a good thought that the surgery was successful!

's Sonya. Hoping he, and you too, are doing well soon. Sounds like a tough day for everyone.

good news, Im sure it will be successful :)

 Sonya

As a parent it is heartbreaking when you child is sick, scared, etc. :guilty:

I am praying that your son has a 100% recovery and that the surgery was successful.

You know - I never think of your son by his birth name - to me he will ALWAYS be Thor! :rotfl:

Since I can't be there in person - here's a special Get Well Dance just for Thor! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

((hugs)) to you and your litle one.

For what it's worth, I had three eve surgeries before my 5th birthday, and the only memory I have of it is: thinking it was very cool that my Smurfette doll got to go with me into the OR.

I hope "Thor" feels better soon!

:grouphug: Here's hugs and prayers sent your way. Sounds like you have a very brave DS. Shirley

I'm glad to hear everything went well. However, even if they had given him a sedative, they probably would have given him Versed. And, if he's anything like my DD, it would have come right back up anyway. My DD absolutely HATED that stuff, and the nurse usually got it right back in the eye.:) We were so glad when she got old enough to just ask her what 'flavor' she wanted on the gas mask.;)
Kim (hugs to the little guy)

Sounds like a tough day for everyone ~ Hope your DS is doing well.

Sonya, glad the worst part is over, Praying everything turns out good. I hope your DS feels better soon. Please keep us posted. :grouphug:

:) I am so glad you wrote to say he did ok. I prayed for him yesterday. I know you are glad that its over.

Wow, thanks everybody. That really means a lot that you were thinking about him.
He slept from 9-9 last night! It really took it out of him. Today he is already wanting to go outside and play. His eyes are still healing of course. They look so bad that they scared him when he looked in the mirror!

Poor little guy. Glad he is wanting to play today.
