The title says it all. I was shocked & surprised by the number of thongs being worn at Blizzard Beach last week.

Is there a "dress code" at the waterparks?

These ladies were mooning us all day long. Full buttocks on full display.

Sorry you were being 'mooned' all day. That would bother me too :sad2:

We ran into this problem last year at BLT. Every day at the pool, these same ladies were in thongs and barely there tops. I asked about a dress code on here and it appears there isn't one other than someone couldn't be nude and I guess people don't consider 'cheeks' as nudity. I do. One of the posters here pointed out to me that many of the guests at WDW are international. They may be used to showing a lot more skin than is typically acceptable here in US.

Nope no real dress code per se. as far as I know, other than that you have to be wearing a suit ...

I have no problems with thongs, that is not nudity. You can see this stuff on TV every day, in adds, in catalogs, etc etc.

Its really not much different than all the people wearing "Yoga Pants" or tights .. gives you the same amount of information.

That's nothing. Our friends have a ton of picture of Europeans (men) overweight walking around in speedos. When ever they need a good laugh they look at the pictures.

As a kid, I learned what thongs were at River Country. The place was full of them. My kids have noticed the thongs at the Disney waterparks of today and just laugh. Butts :rotfl:

I can just see Disney trying to enforce a no thongs rule. Cast members measuring the width of the fabric on people's swimsuits... LOL

I haven't noticed it at Disney, but I have at Universal. I understand that its acceptable in other countries. Maybe its my age, maybe I'm just old school. At home in your own county, fine. At home in your own back yard, absolutely fine, go commando if that's your thing.

But in public, with small children, hormone crazed teenagers, and husbands and wives, I find it tacky and disrespectful.

Really? Thongs aren't much different than yoga pants? That is hilarious. Trust me- there's a difference. I look darn good in yoga pants. I would look terrifying in a thong.

I'm no prude, but a family friendly place like Disney World is just not the best place to showcase your ******* in a thong.

I know people probably aren't going to like this, but I don't think we need to foist our nation's prudish and unhealthy attitudes toward the human body, nudity and sexuality on people traveling from foreign countries. It's not like they're naked or even topless.

I've never understood the foreign men wearing the speedos, all I can tell you is you got off easy my friend.I was in an off site hotel pool and an overweight foreign guy in a speedo had parts that should never be seen in public pop out of his speedo, just knowing that can happen is reason enough to never wear them.

We often get waterpark annual passes and it seems these are more common each trip.
I think it is nasty to see, like when you are standing behind them on stairs to a slide and I don't want to sit in a tube or slide after them. It just seems dirty; I don't sit on public toilet seats and that is too similar yet you are forced to.
As far as the comment about foreigners and not pushing our ways on them, can you imagine if someone wore a thong in a Muslim country? It's all about respect. When we traveled in Europe, we knew dress codes/customs and respected them. When in Rome, do like the Romans.
Disney is too much a family place to have these.

When we cruise it seems like the speedo wearers are all XXL. Speedos and thongs should not be made or sold at that size.

I was an international visitor and wore my thongs at Blizzard Beach. Wait, ...you're not talking about the ones I wear on my feet are you? ;)

There is a major difference though. Many of those Muslim countries are just that - MUSLIM countries. Religious states. They actually have laws about these things.

I've gotta say I'm happy I DON'T live in a country like that. Maybe people think it's gross or tacky or whatever. The bottom line is, it's totally legal, and totally OK to do.

Don't get me wrong: at this point in my 54 year old life, I would never even think about prancing around in a thong, a bikini or even a 2-piece bathing suit. But I definitely don't want to deny anyone else their right to do it - whether it looks good or not!!

Just my opinion of course - but I imagine I'm in the minority.

I don't think I would be particularly happy being behind someone in a thong, but their buttocks are really the same as the rest of their skin on the slide. It's no more dirtier than their elbows.

Really? You have seen people wearing thongs on family friendly tv shows, family friendly magazine ads and catalogs? I guess I haven't. And I think since Disney is a family friendly place, people should respect that and wear tasteful swimwear.

I was thinking the same thing.

If I see someone on TV showing that much skin, I change the channel. If I see a magazine like that? Same thing, out of the house.

Sorry, if people allow that kind of stuff in their house, that is their choice. But please don't assume that everyone does.
