Congrats on your new piece! I have 4 Disney Kinkade paintings now (the 3 released Disney Dreams and A New Day at Cinderella Castle.) I bought all of mine from a Thomas Kinkade Gallery, but I'm pretty sure the price is going to be about the same if you bought it from Disney. They are certainly not cheap, and I can't afford to keep buying all of the new ones that are released! I do know that the sooner you buy it from when it is released, the better. The price is only going to go up, especially once it is sold out by the publisher. Have you seen Peter Pan, the latest one? I've heard that the next one is almost complete, but I don't think the subject has been revealed yet. There will be 12 in the Disney Dreams Collection. I looked quite a bit online before I bought my first one, and I was skeptical about the other vendors, or secondary market. I'm not sure how this will work for you since you bought the the second one on the collection, but they have a continuity program, so since I bought Snow White (the first one) I got a call with the first right of refusal to buy Pinocchio with the same certificate number. So theoretically if I spend $12,000 and buy all of them in the set (that's just a ballpark figure) then they would all be the same size and number. Anyway, sorry to be long winded, but I LOVE my Kinkades and I definitely don't think you got taken buying from Art of Disney. If you want to confirm what you paid with the going rate, you can even check for price guides online of sold out pieces. One place that seemed reputable was call Art of the South, they had some price info on their site for Kinkades.
