Hi -

I just bought a Pinocchio Wish Upon a Star Thomas Kinkade LE Disney Canvas print. I paid a small fortune for it and want to know if anyone knows if there is a place to buy these that are a little less expensive?

Did I make a mistake buying it at the Art of Disney?

Congrats on your new piece! I have 4 Disney Kinkade paintings now (the 3 released Disney Dreams and A New Day at Cinderella Castle.) I bought all of mine from a Thomas Kinkade Gallery, but I'm pretty sure the price is going to be about the same if you bought it from Disney. They are certainly not cheap, and I can't afford to keep buying all of the new ones that are released! I do know that the sooner you buy it from when it is released, the better. The price is only going to go up, especially once it is sold out by the publisher. Have you seen Peter Pan, the latest one? I've heard that the next one is almost complete, but I don't think the subject has been revealed yet. There will be 12 in the Disney Dreams Collection. I looked quite a bit online before I bought my first one, and I was skeptical about the other vendors, or secondary market. I'm not sure how this will work for you since you bought the the second one on the collection, but they have a continuity program, so since I bought Snow White (the first one) I got a call with the first right of refusal to buy Pinocchio with the same certificate number. So theoretically if I spend $12,000 and buy all of them in the set (that's just a ballpark figure) then they would all be the same size and number. Anyway, sorry to be long winded, but I LOVE my Kinkades and I definitely don't think you got taken buying from Art of Disney. If you want to confirm what you paid with the going rate, you can even check for price guides online of sold out pieces. One place that seemed reputable was call Art of the South, they had some price info on their site for Kinkades.

Thanks!! I received it yesterday and I think my DH who was skeptical is even loving it (although not admiting it and still rolling his eyes at me, lol). It looks so good on my wall. I can't help but stopping to admire it. I'm also glad I spent more and went with the largest one. It makes such a difference when your looking at it on the wall. I don't regret buying it at all and I know it's something I'll enjoy till I die!!

I haven't seen the Peter Pan one yet. I know I'm going to want it. I'm trying to talk him into getting it for our bedroom. We are re-doing our bedroom and I'd love to have something like that as a focal point.

Just wanted to bump this.

My wife and I purchased the 14x14" Tinkerbell/Peter Pan canvas from the disneystore.com last Christmas.
A couple days ago we went to the local Thomas Kinkade gallery to look at the larger versions and fell in love. The sales clerk at the Gallery told us about the 'diamond' version of the Cinderella canvas that actually has finely crushed diamond painted on to add some shimmer to the sparkles.

Wife called around and found a place that is selling the Tinkerbell and Cinderella versions in 18x27" canvas for a decent price (not the diamond ones, lol). Both have matching numbers in the S/N collection. Think we're going to spring for them. They are nothing short of amazing. Really looking forward to getting these.

Left with this 14x14" though. E-bay... here I come. ;)
