Hi ya Everyone - My name is Maureen and I'm a newcomer to the boards, so be gentle with me.

I've just found out that Thomas Cook has pulled all their winter 2004 flights to Orlando (does anyone know why?)

I decided to go and pay off the balance of my holiday in one of their shops on Friday, and was told the above by a member of their staff. They have offered switch me to a Britannia flight instead for the same amount of money I paid for my Thomas Cook holiday.

I have rejected their offer to switch to a Britannia flight. After visiting several travel agents in the area over the weekend, with the same details I had for my holiday with Thomas Cook, I can now get a Thomson package holiday for 11 December 2004 for nearly four hundred pounds less than my Thomas Cook holiday.

So thank-you Thomas Cook for making my day.

Welcome Maureen - and congratulations on saving yourself - with Thomas Cook's help £400. I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip even more.

Don't know anything about why Thomas Cook have pulled their flights but I'm sure it will have affected a lot of people. Let's hope they all do as well as you by shopping around.

Hi Maureen

I have not heard of any reason as why they have done that. I know in the past they have had a few problems they have been bought out so many times due to financial problems, I cant see why that would be the reason.

I would get them to refund the whole amount or at least match that price, its not your fault that TC has cancelled the flights to Orlando. I would get a pricing from Lunn Poly and go to TC and ask them to match it for you thats the least they could do for you.

I will be following Michelle's advice and taking the written quote from lunn poly over to Thomas Cook to see if they would price match.

Its disappointing that thomas cook have messed up all my plans, but I can't help wondering how long they knew about these cancelled flights. If I had'nt phone them on thursday to tell them I was coming in to pay the balance of my holiday - when will they have told me?
