Oh dear! Decisions. I rang last week and was told categorically that they wouldn't release them till 11 months out :confused3 Flights from Manchester are similar to what we paid last year and they now go to Orlando, so could do Magic Express and wouldn't have to pay transfers! :yay:

The prices quoted are very tempting, my big concern though is they nearly went bump last year didnt they or are they in a more healthy position now?

Yes, they announced a £590-million loss last November and said they would restructure and close up to 195 travel agency's and axe over 2,000 jobs.

Their share price in 2007 was over 300-pence a share and last November was down to just 25-pence but since then they've risen to 164-pence in May and closed today at 143-pence a share, so since last November the financial markets seem to be very happy with their restructuring.

They've just secured further aircraft financing for six new aircraft to be delivered in 2015 and also recently announced the merging together of its four airlines Thomas Cook UK, Condor Germany, Thomas Cook Belgium and Thomas Cook Scandinavia into one as part of its on-going restructuring for efficiency.

So hopefully they're getting back on track, but if booking I would do it with a credit card as with all travel tickets-bookings as a just in case.

Wow thanks for this - but at the same time aaaargh another option to consider!

Just priced up our dates for September 2014 and for 2 adults and a 3 year old its coming out at £1225 in total which seems like a pretty good price to me although I'm no expert

Has anyone flown with Thomas cook to Orlando before? This would bring down our package to around £4200 so a saving of £500 or so than booking a package with TCD flying virgin

The prices from Glasgow do look very good. I have always been put off flying into Sanford as we don't bother with car hire but they seem to have now bagged landing slots at MCO.

Anyone flown with them before ? Reports I have heard or read previously have not been very favourable.

So far only a few flights have been loaded from Gatwick to MCO, the furthest away being about 11-months for 2-weeks departing the Friday after Easter Sunday on the 25th April returning 9th May for £535 and includes the bundle deal of meals, choose your seat and 20KG check-in baggage.

We flew with them in 2012 and they were fine. Had flown with Thomson and Monarch previously and they were better than both of those. Fairly basic with seat back entertainment, food not great (but is any aeroplane food!) They were on time and cheapest option for us flying direct. We like Sanford airport, it's quick, small and quiet but would be happy to take advantage of magical express at Orlando.:thumbsup2

I take it on the likes of Thomas Cook drinks and the like are extra? Any idea on what kind of plane the Manchester - Orlando flight is the configuration seems to be 2-4-2 then some of the back rows in the centre are groups of 3. And finally....with a flight only booking do you pay it all in advance?

I've clearly been out of the loop here for way too long! I had no idea TC was now flying to MCO. Anyone know what days they are doing Glasgow departures?

Racey101, what are your times like for those flights?
