please pass the hot coffee, I've spent the whole day on the football field and I'm so cold I'm numb.
older dd, my high school freshman, had to be at school by 7:30 this morning (after having spent last night at the pep rally!) becuase she and the rest of the cheerleaders had to decorate the football field.
younger dd (my 7th grader) and I came for the parade at 10:00. small parade, it consists of a few vehicles from our local fire department, the marching band from our high school accompanied by our dance line and cheerleaders, the marching band and kickline from the other high school in our district, the bands from each of our two middle schools, the floats made by each class and the homecoming court. the kids march for about 1/2 mile or so. once on the football field, each of the bands -- except our school's band -- got to perform for the crowd.younger dd especially wanted to see her classmates in the middle school band. our band and dance line performed at halftime during the football game. the homecoming court was presneted -- but the king and queen were not announced until after the football game.
each class got to present a skit. the theme this year was Disney. the freshmen based their skit on The Little Mermaid, the sophomores did Alladin, the juniors did Beauty and the Beast, and the seniors did The Lion King. the sophomores won.
and what a football game -- at the half we were down 7-26, but won the game 29-26.
