This Will Make Your Blood Boil...

GWB has nothing to do with this topic.

And yes, the people do have a short memory. Once all this junk comes out about Billie Clinton, we will realize he was just another blow hard (sorry for the bad punn) who stunk up the office for 8 years.

Give GWB a chance, he's earned it. ;)

I can think of few people who came forward during Clinton adminstration with information on them, and subsequently had their lives virtually destroyed.

You kidding right? I anticipate many things will come out about Iraqi alone once he's out of office.

I'm curious.....what do you think will "come out about Iraq" once Bush is out of office?

"Give GWB a chance, he's earned it"

What has to done that is so remarkable? He's almost single handily destroyed our relationship with virtually every country on the planet? He's a bull in a china shop.

How about a complete investigation regarding his actions against Iraq.

Excerpt from ABC News.com story dated 3/18/02

Some Americans have wondered whether the president's determination to take on Saddam is a personal obsession — one born in the aftermath of the Gulf War his father launched, when Saddam was left in power. And last fall, in Texas, this president seemed to confirm the personal nature of this conflict.
"There's no doubt his hatred is mainly directed at us," Bush said. "There's no doubt he can't stand us. After all, this is a guy that tried to kill my dad at one time."

Many Americans — and many allies — say the administration has used the fear of terrorism as cover to achieve their goal of regime change in Iraq. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass., said, "The Bush administration was wrong to allow the anti-Iraq zealots in its ranks to exploit the 9/11 tragedy by using it to make war against Iraq a higher priority than the war against terrorism." And the collapse of diplomatic efforts at the United Nations has other critics charging that Bush's relentlessness on Iraq has alienated key allies.

I really have a hard time believing some of the comments on this post. Do you honestly think our current President is SO squeaky clean? Have you forgotten he's a politician?

Well, to be honest, I find it hard to believe there are people who think this war was started because Bush wants to avenge his father.

I don't think people think GWB is SO squeaky clean, he just hasn't really done anything that the majority of the public disagree with. When/if he does, people will feel differently I suppose.

I find it interesting that over 70% of the people of this country back this President and his Iraq policy.

As a mother, I'm also proud of the fact that there's someone in the White House that my children can be proud of. Three years ago, I had to turn off the evening news, so that my 8 year old daughter wouldn't hear about our President's Oval Office escapades.

Democratic or Republican doesn't matter - he was a disgusting example of the leader of a free world.

I was raised in a staunch democratic household - but since I've reached the "voting" years, I've voted for the person, not the party. After seeing what the democratic party has to offer, and seeing their actions over the past few months, most of them have a long way to go to convince me to vote differently in 2004.

First of all, I will risk a flame out- has anyone heard of a pocket veto? I don't know the truth about what happened at that time, but BC certainly had it within his rights just to send the troops over there for political show, and then change his mind. Remember, her is a master at the political game. THAT is an undisputed FACT. Do I think the report is true? Heck Yes! Do I think it is a bad thing? Heck Yes! Do I think GWB is "Squeaky Clean" I think he is very clean, especially if you compare him to other Presidents. Sometimes the job forces you to do unpleseant things. I think he learned a lesson from the earlier Gulf War; finish it and don't worry about the press.

I also think that the reason so many countries are backing away from the 9/11 support is because he is actually doing what he set out to do. The people who were just paying lip service, but still funding and supporting terrorist groups, are falling away. "The lady doth protest too much."

Again, IMHO, the reason he is loosing some of the international support is because he is actually doing something about terrorism, and their support was mainly lip service.

As for Clinton, If they are staunch supporters of this action, it could only be because he knows what needs to be done over there, and to show his bi-partisanship. Again, He is a Master of Politics.

Thanks for you $.02 worth, it was priceless! I have read a lot of books from inside the Clinton Whitehouse and there is a consistant theme, irresponsibility and sleaze. Gary Aldrich, the former FBI agent had a lot to say early on in his book Inside the Clinton White House. He had to retire to say it.

He could have come forward, he CHOSE not to.

With all due respect, that is not true.

An Officer in the military takes an oath to protect/defend/yada, yada, etc., etc.............

Part of that oath is to follow the lawful orders of the Commander in Chief.

If the Pres tells you to Shut Up, you Shut Up. It would be a CRIME not to, regardless of who the CiC IS or what you think about it.

The military imposes certain standards of behavior & discipline that far exceed the "real" world.

It speaks very HIGHLY of this Officer that he did NOT come forward.

Jim B.

With all due respect to you as well I realize the military has different standards and officers take oaths etc. HOWEVER, I still stand by my opinion of this author. If he wasn't willing to accept the consequences (and I doubt that included a firing squad) for speaking out at the time of this alleged incident he shouldn't come out now. By doing so it seriously brings into question his honesty.

I'm sorry, but I do not agree. With my son in the military, I know the code of ethics that he must abide by. Without facing court marshall, he could never speak out against a commanding officer, let alone the President of the United States. He may have not faced a firing squad, as you stated, but 20 years in a military brig wouldn't be too appealing.

I have total respect for this officer and believe that what he has to say is the truth. One of the people quoted in his book in regards to this incident is the President's National Security Advisor, and you don't hear him denying the incident.

I completely agree with you.

OK...so, it's the author's fault and not Clinton's. Who cares WHEN it came out? If it's true, it's horrible and it falls on Clinton's shoulders, not the guy who made the decision when and where to tell his story.
