A compendium of items we learned from the "super secret, ultra exclusive" meeting...
* VMK_Mocha was wondering why I didn't answer her message about getting over to the meeting. She actually came to the room I was in...stood in front of me and said "Why aren't you at the meeting Fly?" (not really something learned...but a funny story. I kind of wish I could have said..."Uh, I missed the memo??")
* Community leaders aren't special in any way shape or form. Nope, we are not special. I'm probably even less special than more than half the people on this board!
* If you're in distress, a community leader cannot do anything at all to help you. Nothing at all. Absolutely nothing! They can teach you how to report people...and that's about it. We can't even report people secondarily (is that a word?).
* Community leaders have no "official" uniforms. Although there are people walking around in Sorceror hats, it doesn't mean much. They're just trying to be "cool."
* The VMK have no way to talk to Community Leaders, and therefore we get no special information. It just so happens you learned about the event about 12 hours in advance. VMK can't override the messages they can send through VMK and they don't have our e-mail addresses...therefore there really isn't anyway to organize us Community leaders.
* The staff and developers are still working on what the "next level" of Community Leadership will mean, and if they will be able to give us items (presumably to hand out in the future) and get us messages.
* VMK staff cannot give us instructions or give us things to do during events, although VMK_Babs did say there will be plenty opportunities for CL's to help out around the kingdom during this coming event.
EDIT: * Just one last thing regarding CL applications. Put some time into the essay, but don't take too long on it. What they're looking at (so says VMK_Babs) is the answers to your questions. Although they look very easy...write them out very carefully. She said they have been judging them on "how good the answers are." Therefore, I'm thinking you all need to put your all in the questions if you want the CL job (which IMHO, is fun...but not all that great). I'm not sure what they're exactly looking for, as I like wdwlover and Bezoar were picked as the first Community Leaders, and didn't get the questions...but be eloquent and precise with your answers. Don't be afraid to write a novel about how to get some credits...they'll appreciate it from what I understood.
OK, well that's what I got out of the first 45 minutes of the meeting. Basically the big thing is...is that CL's really aren't all that important and you do lots more work than you get fringe benefits.

Hurray no fringe benefits!
