LOL so who else starts planning a WDW vacation thinking... this time we will take it slow and easy and have a relaxing vacation...

Then you start planing and thinking about rides and then all of a sudden 6 days is not enough time to see what you want to see... there will be no slow and easy!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hear ya! There's no such thing for me either. BUT! I do allow 1/2 hour here and there to just sit on a bench with a treat to watch the world go by ... I highly recommend it!

I am totally with you there... or stoping to watch the fountain at epcot...

I said this last trip and it didn't happen. This trip I'm saying it again but I also booked our breakfast ADR's at 10:15 and other days not setting the alarm. Also planned a break pool day in the middle with a ADR in epcot that night. Hopefully that will help slow us down but I don't think so. Good luck.

We won't be taking it easy dueing the portion of our vacation (4 days) spent at WDW. We scheduled 3-4 days additionally in Clearwater, FL to "take it easy" AFTER WDW. ;)

Dh always plans slow days, I would rather not:lmao: until we can do a 2 week trip I wont be able to stop my mind from racing about wht we could be doing while we are sitting around relaxing :rotfl:

:lmao: I live here and I still struggle with it!! My DH is always telling me to slow down. Last night we went to MK for three hours and saw three attractions (no lines) and the fireworks. He likes to just walk around and sit in places around the park. I went by myself for about the same amount of time last week and got on ten things!! I love flying through the park and getting on as much as possible. My parents are the only ones that can keep up with me!!

They raised this Disney girl right!! :cool1:

Every time, I go in telling my wife "we are not getting to Rope Drop every day, we're just not doing it". Then by Day 4 of getting up at 7:30 and being at the gates at 8:15, I tend to just embrace it and make the most of it. If you bust your butt in the morning, you can relax in the afternoon.

I have trouble with this too! Everytime I walk through those gates, say I will take it easy and relax, but I never do, unless I have my sister there to remind me of our goal every ten minutes. Once she makes me actually sit down for a few minutes, I do enjoy watching the sights and the people, I will admit. I just can't help it. These feet gotta move!

We go full steam ahead. Like some one already posted, I can't help but to feel like I am missing something while we are resting. We do go back to the resort for a swim or a nap during the hottest part of the day!

Never say that myself. I can take it easy at home, so while I am at Disney I am not wasting a minute, LOL. I usually schedule 2-3 days at least to recover from our WDW vacations;) I DO relax when we go to the beach, or somewhere like that.

We are going to try for that this trip!! We have never made a rope drop... but we never leave the park until closing either LOL

I struggle this and counter it with trying to book 9-10 night trips :goodvibes. I don't always get away with it, but if DH's not paying attention, I try to sneak in those extra nights. That way we can have a couple resort days and a day or two of getting to a park late. But its not easy :rotfl:.

after several GO GO GO trips, we ARE taking it slow this time! Spending ALL day pool side with drinks in hand :cloud9: and then hitting the parks after 6 every night. LOVE the parks at night...fewer crowds and VERY magical! :wizard:

This is us. Certain vacations, like wdw, are made for moving and others like the beach are made for relaxing. We do take a pool break most days at wdw though, so there is down time. And we are not rope drop people - we like pm emh

This Sept/Oct trip is our going easy trip. First off its a surprise for our daughter, she has always know since Im not good at keeping Disney a secret, but so far so good. We have 6 nights at the parks and 3 at Vero beach planned. No ADR's, or anything booked trip at the 7 month window. All of this is very odd to me, not really doing any planning or what not. So we will see how this goes, I'm sure I will regret it when we are stuck eating Counter service every meal, but I promised my wife no major preplanning.

I always say that, but THIS trip I really, really mean it! :rotfl:
We only have 4 days in the park in July, so I have embraced the fact that we are not going to see and do everything, so I am making up a "Best of" plan for the trip. Plus the fact that we are staying in the cabin and planning to take advantage of the full kitchen, thus forcing us to be back in the room at mealtimes!

We say it all the time too...but THIS trip will be different. We're booked at OKW which is a very laid back resort. We both promised to relax and ENJOY the resort this trip.:woohoo: Pool side, drinks, fun in the water, afternoon nap and THEN we'll hit the parks!:thumbsup2

we are going in July also!! When I started planning I was going to either do offsite or the cabins to be able to cook... but we decided on POR with dining plan. That is part of the problem.. trying to plan TS meals and making ADRS. I much prefer just walking up to a restaurant. SInce we have not been to wdw in about 7 years and I have heard so much about booking at 180 windows etc.. I am afraid to just play it by ear!

My youngest was only about 2 on our last trip and I want her to experience everything we love about WDW!

We did 5 days in January and we had a wonderful time. Would I have stayed longer? Absolutely!!! But we went to each of the parks once, came back to AKV each night around 7 and we truly had a wonderful easy-going and relaxing WDW vacation. That is the first time I have ever done that. I would not do it every vacation, but it was really nice to take it easy and not be in a rush to get it all done.
