This Trip Is Being Refurbished for Your Future Enjoyment: UPDATED 11/15!

I moved from Waltham, up to the North Shore.

Any move is tough, but moreso when you're moving from everything you know and love.

Thankfully, our move is one of, literally, about 10 min. AND it's the city we moved from two years ago.

Puh-lease, that's an easy one! "A League of Their Own." :thumbsup2 "Are you crying??!! There's no crying in baseball!" :rotfl:

Hooray, it's started! Have a dancing fruit:  I'm ready!

Ahhhh. V has arrived. iPhone in hand I'm sure. Is there an app for a Tinkerbellarella TR?

And as a gal whose BF has just announced that he can't join her on vacation (unfortunately for far less noble reasons than your BF) I am anxious to hear any solo sanity search tips you can provide.

Oh NO! Why is the man not going? And do I need to send BF over there to talk some sense into him?

Who am I kidding.

They're men. They'd end up playing video games or some such nonsense and I'd say, "Did you even MENTION that he needs to go to Disney?" and BF would be all like, "BABE. It was Call of Duty 3. We were shooting things. There was no room for Disney talk."

Then he'd get THE LOOK and we'd move on.

Kudos to your BF for being chosen as a firefighter and doing one of the most difficult jobs I can imagine and one requiring an unbelievable amount of bravery. :worship:

I'm so incredibly proud of him.
And I won't lie, when I think of what he'll be doing, I'm also incredibly terrified for him. I also have a brother who is going to be a federal air marshall in a month. My heart is full to bursting and torn all at the same time. I love these men. But I'm scared to think that they're risking their lives.

I'm here!

:cool1:

I love the League of Their Own reference - that was one of the first movies that I could literally say each line of dialogue along with the characters.

I have three of those:

Dirty Dancing (I carried a watermelon.)
The Princess Bride (I am not left handed.)
The Goonies (Shut up, Mouth!)

Good your home. Now we can talk about a New England DISmeet and a March 2011 WDW DISmeet. :rotfl2:

Huzzah to both! Let's get on that!

Looking foeward to your tales. But not your tail, I don't want to see that if you have one.

I assure you I wasn't born with any miscellaneous appendages, tails or otherwise.

Yippee! Another TinkerTR!!! Gettin' me some excitement going on!

You know, I was so wishing you were in Disney when I was in Disney. 'Cause I have this sneaking suspicion your hugs are the bomb. And I think I could've used a Liesa hug a couple of times.

I have been checking and checking.....I'm so glad you've gotten started!!!:thumbsup2

Ok. I admit. I was waiting just to build up the suspense for YOU. ;)

I know this was quite a journey for you, and can TOTALLY see why you would be crying in the airport. And while there's no crying in baseball, I would say there most definitely IS crying at the airport. All the time, I'd guess....;)

Well, first there was no crying. Then there was some crying. And you know what? There is also crying in Disney World, but we'll get to that.

Ahem! What's wrong with the North Shore?!?!?!:snooty:

Um. It's too far North of the Land of Tink. ::yes::

Its been a year and I'm just starting the adjustment to living up there. Plus I have yet to fully unpack.

Um. Confession. I've been living in our current place for TWO years and we have unpacked boxes. Obviously I don't need whatever's in there. They are NOT coming to the new place.

Ok, I had to laugh here. Not at the fact that your BF couldn't go with you or that you suddenly had to move. That doesn't sound like much fun. But I was down at Disney during the same week and started writing my TR, and I used the same opening line and also have been incorporating movie quotes into the TR.

Great minds, I guess...

First...I'm going to find your TR and subscribe :moped:

Second, dude! We're channeling the same Disney writing spirits.

Third. Seriously. Could it have BEEN any more humid down there last week? And I realize the answer is actually yes but UGH. And to come home to it wasn't pleasant either.

I found your PTR just a few weeks ago and I'm coming out of lurkdom for the new TR! Hope the trip was great, even though it wasn't the trip you originally had planned! I'm in RI right on the border of MA! We might be neighbors :)

YAY! A freed lurker! Hi. :wave2:

I'll PM you to let you know roundabouts where I am. I'd love to know if we're "neighbors".

I am sorta ashamed to mention this, but I read your intro last night (but didn't comment- I know, bad!) and when I read Tink's intro, there was some serious double taking going on!! Wild!!! You are BOTH great writers!

The Almighty Liesa has spoken.

(The Almighty Liesa...like the Almighty Oz, but with more hair. And a body, not just a floating, smoky head. And a much prettier face.)

I'm here!! I hope all with the move goes smoothly. It's always so much stinkin' work! :headache:

Brook has arrived. I wish I had gotten your address before I left. I'm sure Mickey would've loved to send Henry a postcard saying how much he missed him already! Next time...oh, SNAP! Next time maybe I can MEET Henry! (And you. And Joe. Of course.)

Woman, you picked some good 2011 trip dates. :thumbsup2

Busted! :lmao:

Thanks for the compliments! Now I guess you'll have to come read some more... :rolleyes1

Good for you!!! I'm so happy you decided to go and I can't wait to read all about it. My husband is a firefighter in Philadelphia, so I know all about it!!!! We have to live in the city so when we were engaged we bought a cute house on the very edge of the city....hoping in one of the contracts in the NEAR future, then we can move to the burbs!!

We're thinking of staying put in the new place for about 2 years and then looking. In our area, the job security for FFs is about 2 years. If you don't get laid off after that, you're in pretty good shape, so that's when we'll think about buying.

Lord, I'm terrified of being a FF's GF. Please tell me it's not as hard as I'm imagining it to be...

The Almighty Liesa??!! :scared1::lmao: I dunno, I kinda like the idea of hiding behind a curtain and pretending to be wise sometimes. Mostly when my teenagers think I should be hidden away, and that I'm a moron just for breathing. :rotfl2:

I do LOVE to encourage and listen when I can- hugs are often the BEST way to listen. ;)

Busted! :lmao:

Yeah, I know, I totally doomed myself there!! :lmao: But really, I do love what I read last night, and will probably at some point post my drivel on your thread.

Ahem. Some of us do love Disney. Besides, I get to shoot things on Buzz Lightyear! :thumbsup2

Agreed. Some of those days were brutally hot. Thank God for Dole Whips. But we expected that--it's Florida! I was much more upset when the heat and humidity followed us home. Who let them on the plane?:furious:

Teenagers should be sent to an island with no cell phones, computers or anyone to do their laundry. I think that would turn them back around right quick! ;)

It's good, her drivel, real good.

Yeah, I know, I know. And if BF and I had kids I suspect someday he might become a card-carrying member of the Disney Dads club. But he can be so stereotypical male. And I like to give him crap for that.

And I do the same with us women. We're no trip (even if we are always right). Believe me, I know. ;)

I was much more upset when the heat and humidity followed us home. Who let them on the plane?:furious:

The same person that let the lovebug on my plane, apparently. That's one entymological disaster they can KEEP in the South.

Based on your lengthy mult-quote post and reference to movie quotes in Captain Oblivious' TR, I decided to come check it out. Have room for another DIS Dad around here?

I do! The more the merrier. You DIS Dads are a rare breed. And GREATLY appreciated. :goodvibes

Subscribing - I'm very curious about solo trips. I think I would love to do one someday!

Found your post on TINKERBELLARELLA and noticed that you're trip is similar to ours, but we'll be staying at AKV! Excited and reading all these TR's with pics leaves me  :hyper::hyper2:

:santa: Just wanted to say :wave2: and Happy Trip!

Dude, you're the new Zzub, I swear.......one little installment and THREE pages of comments!!

Woo hoo!!

Anyway, I'm in -- of course!!

.

Talk, strong arm, beat, otherwise coerce... why yes, that WOULD be helpful. But you're right they'd probably get together and do guy things and forget all about why they were supposed to talk in the first place.

Men. WHY didn't I pick a Disney loving one?? :sad2:

Holy moly...page 3...this TR is hopping!!!! Well I'm definitely in and I can't wait to hear all about your trip!!

Page 3-the title sounds very ominous.....
Good luck with the move and the busy time of year for your job!

Sanity? I'm looking for a little of that! And if it turns out I have to go all the way to WDW for it, well then... I'm probably out of luck. Hopefully you have secrets to share? :)
