This Trip brought to you by Truck Fire & Eye Surgery ~ Magic Cruise 11/24/12

Following you over from my TR! Truck fires and Eyes...oh my! I am so glad you are still going! I don' t think you are crazy for having the itch to pack. I had a small suitcase that grew into a large tub hidden in the closet for 12 months...and a packing list going about as long!

I've been out of touch with princess dresses lately. Mostly because the Disney store here closed a couple of years ago. :furious: My DD won't know that we are going until after Halloween. I'm wanting to try to get her to be a princess for Halloween and then we can reuse the dress for Disney. She watched the trailer for Brave and said it was too scarry and she doesn't have a favorite right now.

When she was 21 months we did Cinderella

And when she was 4 we did Belle

So I'd like to do a different one each time. Any suggestions??? Also, does anyone know where I can get a good deal?:teacher:

I got a Snow white nightgown on clearance on the Disney Store website that is silky soft and my 4 year old birthday girl will be wearing it to MNSSHP this October! Your daughter is adorable. :)

I hope we don't have the same freezing temps you did!!!

generally it was warm enough for shorts and t-shirts during the day but you definately needed to carry track-suit or leggings and a jumper for the evening. There was a few days rain and the end of the trip got very very cold!

Your daughter is so sweet...I wish Ab would have been the princess type, the closest we ever got was Tinkerbell.

Be an ebay stalker...there are also lots of ladies who make princess dresses on the DISboutique board (not sure how much they run).

The temps were crazy...I would just say take layers. I bought everyone a long sleeved underarmor shirt and then we layered on top of it with turtle neck, tshirt, and hoodie. There were only 2 days where we needed to do this, rest of the time we were fine with carrying a hoodie and a t-shirt...some days we had shorts and swimsuits...

You're going the same time as we went last year.

How were the crowds?

I have a Disney tub that I keep putting things in & on. The urge to start packing has passed...but it will be back.

Do you have a pic? Can you tell it's pj's? We stopped to get groceries on the way home from Hope being in the hospital and she told me she was embarassed because she was in pj's in public. If you can't tell, that would be great. Those princess dresses are sometimes itchy.

I'm okay with needed something a bit warmer in the evenings...but I'd perfer not to have 'very very cold'...lol...that's what we go to Ohio for.

Thanks! Hope wore that Cinderella costume for Halloween...the next year we had a friend give her a brand new Disney store Minnie costume...nope...she was Lightning McQueen that year! I hope the temps aren't that crazy this year. I don't mind it being warm enough to swim and do water rides...but I don't want any freezing days...guess it's not really up to me though...lol.

I called Harmony Barber Shop to make an appointment for Hope. They didn't have any early appointments for wednesday so I took a noon appointment. After thinking about it, I called back to check on Sunday. They had a 9:00...so I grabbed it. :yay:At first I didn't think I wanted to do it first thing on our first day. But then I realized we would be back later in the week on AM EMH day.

Hope got her first hair cut at Disney. She was almost two and still didn't need a haircut, but I wanted it to be at Disney.

Gotta love free mouse ears!:lovestruc

Last time we went to Disney was April, 2010. We were only there for two days while at another Signs Now Conference. But as it was her 5th birthday we got her hair cut again. Now it just seems like tradition.

:love:The parade started just as we walked out. She was so happy that day.:cloud9:

So now I'm super excited and happy about the whole thing. I hope they let us in before rope drop, but I won't be too upset if they don't.popcorn:: And maybe we'll get a supercute pic to use for Christmas Cards.:santa:

What a fun tradition! Glad you were able to get a good appointment time!

You really can't tell that the Snow White pajamas are PJs but I don't see it on the Disney Store site any longer. Hopefully you saw it when I posted previously. But perhaps your local store would have one. They do have other princess nightgowns that their reviews state are also used for dressup.

I intended to start posting about our first day at Magic Kingdom, but last night Hope told me how excited she was to shoot Brave's bow & arrow. I did not have this meet and greet in my plan because she saw the trailer to the movie and said it looked too scary.:confused3 So now I'm going to redo my touring plan. (The things we do for our kids!)

Because of this detour, today will be a picture of my countdown (which I keep hidden behind the curtain in my bedroom.:lmao:

And the box we are using for the reveal. I think I will print some Disney stickers to cover up the ones on the box. Inside will have our travel info, scrapbook stickers, etc. When she opens it there will be balloon flying out. pixiedust: I love surprises!

Our Disney store closed a couple years back so it's much harder the get the good deals I did once upon a time.:furious: There is one an hour or so away. I'll try to hit that one when I take my DH to his next eye dr appointment...in about a month.:faint:

I really have my eye on the Rapunzel wedding dress...not in love with the price, but the dress is beautiful and she can get a few uses out of it.:teacher:

Our first full day in Orlando will consist of breakfast in our cheap motel. ;) I am packing sample boxes of cereal and we will have an ice chest in the car, so I will freeze milk and take it with us. If I don't break down and tell Hope we're staying 'at' Disney before we go, I may tell her that morning. I can't really decide what to do. Maybe I'll just play it by ear.:confused3

Then we will check out and head to All Stars Movies. I'm sure it will be fairly early and our rooms won't be ready. If the weather is forcasted to be warm, I will pack swimsuits where we can get to them easily because I know Hope will be ready for

offdayandstudios071-1.jpg

I'm thinking about striking a deal with Dave that says I'll ride Mission:Space with her if he swims with her...think he'll go for it?

Anywho, I'm getting ahead of myself, because even if it is warm enough that day, it probably won't be warm enough that morning. Besides...I have a touring plan...lol. Well not a real touring plan. After we check in, we will head to the bus and get on either Epcot or Magic Kingdom (whichever gets there first) and then get on the monorail to the Contemporary for lunch. After we fill our bellies with our first free meal, it will be on to the Grand Floridian to see the Christmas decorations.:santa:

If the weather is good we will head back to the hotel so Hope can swim. If not, it will be on to DTD where we will do some shopping, take some "we take these every trip photos" and maybe hit up Goofy's for our first free snack.:woohoo:

Either way we'll go to Mass that evening and have dinner at the hotel so we can go to bed early...we'll need to be up and ready early to head to Magic Kingdom.:cloud9:

I stayed at Movies last year....It's a fun place. This sounds like a good day and not to over stimulating. I think it's a good start.

Thanks. Hope has got sick on our last long trip. I'm trying to make sure she gets enough rest this trip.

What building did you get at Movies?

I think I would take mission space over swimming...great deal, hope he goes for it!

you might get lucky with your check in. Spoiler but we did last year.

I'll try to remember to bring it up and see what he says...of course, he probably won't remember agreeing to it later.;)

Oooooh...it would be nice to get all unpacked early on check-in day. How early did you get in? Did you make any requests?popcorn::

First I want to say that DH went for it! He is totally on board with me riding the stuff she wants to try and he doesn't want to do again and him swimming with her if its reasonably warm. Yay!!!:cheer2:

Now back to the touring plan and our first day at the parks.

On Sunday the 25th, the plan is to get up, have breakfast in the food court and wait for the bus to Magic Kingdom!
(Please note everything I say is subject to change!)

Random pic of me walking to Magic Kingdom...

and here's hoping its not that cold on any of our days this trip!

Anywho, we will try to get in early for our 9:00 Harmony appointment

011207103-1.jpg

Once Hope gets dolled up it will be off to meet Rapunzel.princess:

Then down Main Street to take Photopass pics and to get this photo
TriptoDisneyMK082-1-1.jpg

except with Christmas decorations!!! I wasn't really into the Halloween stuff everywhere when we went last time because it was mid-September and we weren't doing MNSSH:sad2:so it was just a little odd to me.

Here is a photo of a random couple getting engaged when were walking into Magic Kingdom.:bride:

010808a079-1.jpg

Then Hope's first ride on BTMR, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, pirate: hoping to catch Pirate Goofy, Aladdin, Splash (if its warm enough). Followed by lunch at Peco's Bills. Gotta have that cheese sauce to drip our fries in!

Then, with our bellies full we'll go for her first time on Haunted Mansion, Pooh (not sure about this...touring plans says the line will be 24 mins long.:teacher: I want to wait in line to play with the interactive stuff...but I'm not sure if its 24 mins worth of stuff.:scratchin)

Random pic of Hope in front of the castle...
011207066-1.jpg

Then Small World, which was her favorite when she was little...here is a pic of her on it. She was amazed by this ride. Now that she's 7 I plan on doing this once per trip. ;)
010808a120-1.jpg

Followed by Mickey's Philharmagic, Peter Pan (DH will pick up fp for these while I order lunch) Tea Cups, Carrousel, maybe Merida (if the line isn't too long), TTA, Monsters Inc, Buzz, dinner at Cosmic Rays, Dumbo, The Castle Lighting and BTMR in the dark. And, of course, photopass pics in front of the castle once the lights are on.

According to touringplans I can get all of this done this day. I am sceptical. But there are a few things we can skip because we'll be there for AM EMH later in the week.

I think you can get that all done...have you checked into getting a subscription to ridemax? It was probably the best thing ever for this OCD planner. It was spot on the entire trip, even let us get more things done when the family stuck with a plan. Next time I use it I am going to put it on slow walking speed so that we take in the atmosphere more than racing to attractions...I had it set on normal speed.
