After Club Cool, it was time to head over to World Showcase. We decided to take the boat over to the other side of the lagoon, something none of us had done before.
It just so happened that the boat was right there waiting for us! We jumped on the boat and Beth took the wheel:
When she realized the boat wasnt going anywhere, we found some seats.
The boat ride was very nice and relaxing
something I will be incorporating into many more of my Epcot visits!
We got off the boat in America, I think and headed over to Morocco. I love Morocco. Its one of my favorite countries in WS. Of course, I think that about every country!
While we waited a few minutes for our reservation time, we looked around the shops in Morocco.
Then it was time for Restaurant Marrakesh!
My favorite counter service at WS is Tangierine Café (is that what its called), so I had high hopes for Marrakesh.
Every single one of us was starving. And you know, when youre starving, EVERYTHING on the menu looks delicious! It took us a long time to decide on our choices, but in the end, Beth and I decided to share A Night in Something (I cant remember the name), Sarah got the same, and Jason had a few appetizers.
I ordered a Sprite.
Jason and Sarah got some mint tea. It was so cool how it was served. And it was delicious.
We had some delicious bread.
The belly dancer came out and did a little shaking of the belly and the booty.
And then it happened
A couple came in and was seated at a table pretty close to our table. One or both halves of that couple was the stinkiest person I have smelled in a very long time. Im truly sorry if I offend anyone here by talking about this, but it was out of control. I mean, I know that I probably didnt smell like a rose after walking around ALL day in the rain. But this persons B.O. was so bad that I eventually lost my appetite! I LOVE food and for me to lose my appetite, you know something has got to be seriously wrong.
We got our food and dug in. The lamb that we had was absolutely wonderful.
Then I started to get a headache. Toward the end of the meal, I went to wait outside for Beth, Jason, and Sarah. I was chatting with Gordon (DH) on the phone, telling him about our day, when Beth called and said that the server had seen Beths birthday button and had brought a dessert. Oh, and the stinkers had left their table. On my way back to the table, I passed the stinker(s) on their way out and held my breath.
That dessert was the BEST dessert ever! I dont know what it was called, but heres a picture of it:
It was so, so, so, so good.
We devoured it. There really was nothing left on the plate when we were finished. And it was a huge dessert. Yum, yum, yum! The stinkers were worth it, if only to have that dessert.
Oh, Jason finished what was left on Beths and my plate and this was what was left (if youre a vegetarian, skip the following picture and paragraph):
We had a great time examining the anatomy of that bone, me being a physical therapist, Beth being a nurse, and Jason being a doctor. I know, its weird, but I guess thats what happens when you get a bunch of medical professionals together! Or maybe its just us
In the end, the stinky meal was saved by our scrumptious dessert.
We looked in some of the shops and made some purchases. I bought some cologne in Norway for my brother. Its that Geir cologne. He got some of it last time he went to Disney and he loved it. So he has a good Christmas present waiting for him!
I bought some popcorn, which was delicious. If only I could have some of that popcorn right now
Ever since I got back from Disney World, I have been eating microwave popcorn out of my Epcot popcorn bucket when I watch movies. DH made a comment the first time, but hes used to it now!
We watched Illuminations.
Then we headed back to AKL for some more night viewing!
Again, we had the night vision scope and the animal keeper all to ourselves. I dont know why more people dont participate in this awesome activity. This night, the animal keeper seemed to be much more knowledgeable. That means we asked him about 14,000 questions. I learned so much between our two night viewing experiences. It made me wish I had gone with my very first career aspiration
being a veterinarian. But then I remembered that I love to help humans, and I felt better!
After night viewing, we hung out around the fire pit in our back yard, then headed back up to the room. Tomorrow would be Blizzard Beach (Yay!) and the event I had been waiting for all my life
Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party!
