This thread on the debate board is really annoying me!

It is titled "Day Care on Family Vacations" or something like that and talks about people dropping their kids off at the Club or Lab on DCL and not spending any time with them.

Anyway, I want to jump in and point out that this is NOT daycare but planned, fun activities for the kids but I'm scared to post over there. They seem to be a cut throat kind of group. Anyway, here's the link if any of you want to dive in:

Trust me when I say that you have described that section of the board very well. On several different occasions I have posted in that section of the Dis and have been attacked for what I said.

I guess they call it the "Debate Board" for a reason! I tend to steer clear of that entire area now.

I didn't post any replies to the day care thread. However, I resent you statement concerning that, "They seem to be a cut throat kind of group." I'm part of that group, but I would not considered myself cut throat. Not all of us on the debate board are that bad. I like to post on all the boards, but like the debate board because it's not all fluff.

I noted that some of the other forums seem to get a little enthusiastic in attack. I posted once on a forum here not even remotely associated with a topic that approached debate, and within 10 minutes of posting received a private message really angry at me from someone I don't even know. We weren't even discussing a hot button issue, nor were any specific views presented in my post. It was weird. I have also noticed a few posters here (one in the last couple of weeks or so in particular) who became angry at the "happy people" here. Wow. Really didn't get that one.

It is lovely to be able to ask questions about the DCL and others' experiences without worrying that someone will take exception to my name, my place of residence, my spelling, etc.

So now I don't even go to other forums here, just this one. I have an 11 year old, a 9 year old, and a 6 year old. I get plenty of debate in my life.

It seems that most of the people replied to the other thread with the opinion that it is ok for the kids to spent time in the clubs if they want to. I would certainly never leave my children there if they didn't want to go but my kids love their own daycare so I can't see there being any problem on the cruise. Maybe the folks that said it was terrible to leave your kids in the clubs were mad because their kids didn't want to stay there. I think a little independance from the parents is a good thing.

Sonya, I dont know why but this still amuses me beyond belief....I mean you said what you felt, nothing wrong with that, then someone from the board gets all offended. I just still am laughing about this. Like I said it totally proved your point.
