This sounds so superficial but I need some advice.

I will be standing on the surface of the sun when my family and I are in DW in the 1st week of JUN.
I am worrying as usual because my face has really got really bad hyperpigmentation from 10 years of sunbathing in California. I have used so many different expensive products and finally get my pigment lightened a bit. And now, once again, I will need to stand under the sun for at least 8 hours a day for 6 days! What should I do? Last time it was 2 years ago, we went around March so that sun was not as bad. I used plenty sunscreen and I also had my big sunglasses on.

I am wondering if you have similar problems like I do? What do you wear on your face to protect your delicate skin? I really wish that my teenage kids will allow me to wear a mask. You know, I am not shy and I don't care what people say. (J/K) Anyway, please let me know if you have any great ideas or products that you have used before to protect you from the sun. Thanks ahead of time!

I got bad hyperpigmentation when pregnant that never really went away. My derm recommended aveeno radiant sunscreen just as much as the prescription stuff. But obviously staying out of the sun works the best.

I have bad light sensitivity so I basically always wear a visor in the sun. Helps a bit and I'm so not a big floppy hat kinda girl.

Good luck.

I wear moisturizer with sunscreen and a fairly heavy cover foundation. I have rosecea and the sun makes it worse turning my cheeks really beet red.

I don't have hyperpigmentation, but I am very pale skinned. I don't tan, I just burn badly. Plus I take a prescription med that one of the side effects is burning even easier. I lather on Water Babies brand sunblock in the morning & never even have to reapply during the day. I never get burnt. Well, except for that one time that I forgot to apply sunblock on my scalp where my hair was parted. Ouch!

And you don't sound superficial at all. You sound smart for thinking ahead.

I use the higher SPF using over the counter formulas (SPF 45 gives you 98% protection). and all of my makeup has SPF as well. I also wear a sunhat because my scalp burns easily too. My siblings and I are all of the "turn pink and never tan" variety, and there is a history of skin cancer on my mom's side. So, we are all very vigilant about hiding from the sun (which isn't easy now that I live in TX!).

I have had skin cancer, so need to keep my skin protected from the sun. I go to WDW in August. We get to the parks at rope drop, and take an afternoon break back at our resort. Then we go back and stay late.

I slather on the sunscreen every two hours. We walk through shops if we can, and rarely will you catch me standing out in the sun. Most of the queues are inside or covered, outdoor seating for quick service tend to have umbrellas or shades over the tables, etc.

I agree with a big floppy hat and lots of sunscreen. Seek out the shade when you can by ducking in stores etc. As the pp said, most of the queues are covered. I hate the sun and I hate walking in the WS in epcot where there is little shade. I'm not sure I would do an umbrella, but it is a good idea. I would be worried about hitting people with it accidentally or poking someone in the face if it were crowded.

A hat is a MUST! and reapply sunscreen and take a mid day break. Never got burnt once and we always go in August and I burn quickly, easily and badly.

I do not have the skin issues you have, but am very concerned about damaging rays, etc.

Make-up with sunscreen and liberal reapplication. (That's the toughest part.) Also a visor and BIG sunglasses.

I'm prone to break outs so I use a mineral sunscreen (La Roche Posay). I never go without a hat or sunglasses at WDW either.

Wear one of Neutragena's 70 spf face creams and wear a hat. No biggie, I always do it to prevent wrinkling and sunspots.

Get the one with Zinc. Much better protection for your face. It takes a few minutes to soak in and does NOT make your face white. Just back from a week in Mexico. Used this brand - only 45 - and it was perfect.

Also I recommend a sun hat with protection. Most good swim shops will have beautiful hats.

Definitely a floppy hat. I have a great bucket style hat from Eddie Bauer, but the brim is much larger than a traditional bucket hat. I love it for the beach.
