Ok, please forgive my rambling in advance, I hope I can make it make sense.

We are staying at the Contemporary for our honeymoon; 2 nights before our wedding, our wedding night, and then 5 nights after our wedding. We booked a garden wing room because it was convenient, deluxe, had cute new rooms, was on the monorail, and was affordable (that combination rarely happens.)

For our comp night they upgraded us to a Tower Concierge room- Cool you say? You tell me...

We will have to check in to the garden room on July 10.
THEN
Check out of the garden room at 11:00 on July 12 (our wedding day.) The wedding is at 12.

An option she gave us was to do a late check out at 1:00 which means leaving our reception to get our stuff ready and move it.

She also said we could leave everything will bell services in the morning and they would move it, however, that means getting ready and then packing everything and taking it to bell services on what will be an already stressful morning.

THEN

We have to get back there around 3:00 or so to check ourselves in to the new room.

Then, the next morning, we have to check out and move back to a different garden room the morning after our wedding.

It all just seems like too much moving to us. We checked, and staying in the Tower Concierge room for all 8 nights would cost us an additional $2000+ which we don't have!!! I have emailed my coordinator to see if we can just skip the cool room and stay in the garden room the whole time.

That totally stinks because I doubt we are ever again going to be able to afford a $550ish/night hotel room (I'm a teacher for goodness sake.) It just seems like way too much of a hassle, you know?

It just seems silly to care that much about the cool room when we're going to be busy with wedding stuff all day, we have a dessert party until late that night, and by the time we get back to the room it's probably going to be 11:00 or later and we will be exhausted. We have lived together for 6 years, we don't care about all the romance and such! :rotfl: Then we'll have to get up early to gather everything, check out, and then store things in bell services until we can re-check in at 3:00!!

What do others think? Help!!

I'd stay in the same room if I were you. It's not worth all that moving around, and packing, and repacking. :)

Have you asked your coordinator about switching your comp night to the last night of the honeymoon? Then you would only move once and get to enjoy the comp room.

Oh, now that's a good idea!!!

I agree, ask if you can move your comp night to your final night! Thats what im doing! That way i get to enjoy the room with out having to move!

I would stay in the same room. That is way too much hassle for you on your wedding day. It might be a nice idea, but trust me you dont want all that upheaval.
I am sure the room you already have booked will be very nice anyway.

we stayed at the yc concierge for our wedding & just had the room night from dftw comped to our 10 night stay.

We moved our comp night to a different night than our wedding night to avoid that check in / check out mess :) and it was no problem for our coordinator to move!

I would either not move at all, and see if Disney will comp you for the room you already have booked, or stay in the cool room the last night since you will have to pack anyway and can hopefully leave most of your stuff packed-- not be packing and unpacking everything.

But I definitely would not move stuff on my wedding day!

Thanks everyone for the idea :cheer2: They moved our comp night to the last night so we don't have to worry about packing and unpacking and packing and unpacking ;) Thank you SO MUCH HMGolden (and others) for the idea!!! I didn't even know that was possible. We'll still have to move, but we can put most things in our car and just take what we need for one day to the new room :Pinkbounc
