Have you heard Martina McBride's "In My Daughter's Eyes"? It's so beautful. Every time I hear it, I cry and I don't even have a daughter! I can only imagine how those of you who have daughters react to this song.

I have not heard it yet, but I am sure I will cry. I cry at commercials...especially ones for WDW!

I do too! I weep when I watch travel channel specials on the Magic Kingdom. Seriously, my BF knows when I'm about to start...usually when the show the host of the show getting ready to hit the parks and I know that the first view of the castle is coming. I break down and weep like a baby.

She puts out all the tearjerkers. I also cry at "Concrete Angel". She has a beautiful voice and she puts such raw emotion into her songs.::yes::

Yes, I have heard it and I love it! :) I agree though, it does bring tears to my eyes...it is a beautiful song.

I love ANYTHING by Martina! Her voice is like an angel! I can't wait to see her and my MAN Alan on 10/2! Two of the very best anywhere, in my opinion.

That song is beauitful! I have a son, so I just switch my words around! LOL.

She has 3 girls, I believe. (or is it 2?)

Speaking of songs that make you misty, there's one playing right now that gets me - "Let Them Be Little". Not sure who sings it, but it rips me apart - the words are SO true. I would encourage all parents of young children to listen to it at least once.:D

I can't even listen to "Then They Do" by Trace Adkins. It makes me cry every time. I think about this song when I'm frustrated with something my ds is doing.

I agree, Martina has the best voice!

I love just about any song by Martina. The one "In my daughters eyes" is sad and I cry everytime I hear it and have 2 little boys.

Another one to get the tears flowing is "Remember When" by Alan Jackson. I heard that for the first time not long after my mom passed away. She and my dad were married for 42 years so I always think of them when I hear it.

Leahannpen, you're in for a treat! We saw Martina & Alan in April. Martina sounds as good or better in concert than on her recordings - such a truly amazing voice!!

It is a great song...

In my Daughter's Eyes

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Oh my goodness...I am all teary-eyed after reading the lyrics. :( I have a 5 year old daughter who is growing up way too fast for me - she has already lost one of her baby teeth AND started Kindergarten - all in one week! Those lyrics will go great in her scrapbook..

Gorgeous lyrics. I don't have a daughter, but in a way, it makes me think of my mom. ::yes::

I think that's what got me, too! My mom passed away 3 years ago, and Wednesday would have been her 78th birthday. I still miss her.

Oh yes!! Love that song... gets me crying every time too! Martina is one of the best singers out there (IMO)!

 I'm so sorry for your loss.

I to am one who gets misty eyed when I hear that song! Usually it's in the car with DH and there have been times where he has laughed at me. But now that he knows the words to it, he doesn't laugh anymore.

After DD was born and found out that she had Down Syndrome, I was in shock.

Before she was born I had no patience what so ever that's where I feel this in the song comes into play....
"But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes"
To show me that I have more patience then I ever thought I had.

With her having Down Syndrome, to many people are predjustice {?} againest her cause of the DS and that she won't amount to anything. To DD everyone is the same, hence this part of the song....
"In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace"

There is a song that Madonna sings "I'll Try" that she wrote about her mom. My mom passed away almost 5 years ago, and everytime I hear that, it's like someone opens the flood gates.
