Sorry we are falling behind here! Another tough day, worked last night, then with only 1 1/2 hours of sleep had to take Stitch for her 2 week follow up at the Pediatrician for her ADD meds. They upped her dose and we needed to follow up to make sure all was well...unfortunately we MAY have a problem with this new dose. It's not even a high one for her age and weight, but her heart beat went up to borderline high..which has me worried. We are going back in one month instead of our regular 3 months to check in and keep a close watch. This medication has been very helpful with her focus and ability to concentrate and compete tasks, especially homework as it is on a time release. It would be very sad to have to try a less effective med and her have a setback...but it is what it is and we will deal, right? So, after the appt I got to take yet another 2 hour nap...which turned into a 3 hour nap thanks to Ferb getting the girls off the bus, homework done, AND dinner almost finished by the time I finally joined the living....THANK YOU, FERB!!!
I am now officially on vacation!!!! I gave my shift away for tonight and then my weekend is starting tomorrow...as of now, I am off for 11 days!!! Gotta get all of our loose ends tied up tomorrow, finish packing and make sure nothing important is missing. Then Wednesday I have a day of foo foo appts!! First mani-pedi at a really nice spa thanks to Ferb, and then hair at a really nice salon thanks to the snowstorm that kept me from my ghetto place on fri. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my ghetto place..and don't get the wrong idea, ghetto here in Niagara is NOT ghetto..it's just not expensive!! I am not looking forward to the cost of my hair this week, but between photopass and our camera and camcorder, I am NOT going without my color and cut!!

So, that is the update so far! Hope everyone is doing well..I hope I can sleep the next couple of nights, I am in desperate need of lots!!

On the 10th Day of Disney, my Disney obsessed brain thought of:

The 10 reasons we love Walt Disney World:
1. I am not "Fat" at Disney, I am Pooh-Sized and not only does that sound cute, but I actually fit on all the rides

2. Ferb can put on pink fuzzy light up Mickey ears and it's cute, not creepy!

3. My DD is not a student fighting to keep up with her fellow students because of her ADD, she is just a little girl who gets to hang out with her fave Stitch!

4. Rapunzel can ride her little girlie rides and still be cool like her sister and ride a ROLLER COASTER!!

5. In one day, we can meet a pirate, a princess, a cowboy, an alien, a space ranger, a mouse...WOW!!

6. An alien calls us in the morning to wake us up so we won't miss our breakfast with Belle and her friends!! Where else can you get that, hmm?

7. My DD 10 loves to hang out with her boring parents and tag along little sister...only at Disney!!

8. I can walk down Main Street singing and dancing and not be embarrassed...well, that's not just because it's Disney

9. It's always hot and sunny..even when it's snowing here in Canada!!

10. Can you say Mickey Premium? Yummmmmm!!

I hope you can get some sleep too... I'm already too excited to sleep and I have 6/5 days to go. I hope all works out with Stitch's meds and how nice of Ferb to let you sleep . Enjoy your mani/pedi and hair appt. Your 10 reasons were great... my favs are: 3, 7, and 8 (because I do that too )

My sone had ADHD BAD!!! He was on meds at about 3 and stopped taking them in highschool, at his choice, but was told if things went bad, he was back on. Well honestly he should probably still be on them and he is 22.
He had a lot o depression too...chemical kind. He could cry for 3 hours straight. I can't beleive I am not in the nuthouse! He was on different meds, but we did find some that worked good for us. Zoloft and impremine. But with the Impremine (not sure of the brand name on that one) he had to get blood work and EKG's every so often to be sure everything was working right.

I hope they can get your DD squared away. Hopefully next test comes out OK.

Ugh...that is stressful!!! I don't know what I would do if she was clinically depressed as well..all you ever want to do as their parents is make everything okay..but what do you do when it's beyond your control? We will see how she adapts to this new dose, she may need an adjustment period, or we may need to try something else. We actually have an appt with her teacher this afternoon to go over her progress at school. I am a little worried about this teacher...she hasn't exactly been on board with Stitch's diagnosis. She has been very inconsistent with her observations in class. We just had our Dr fax a letter with the diagnosis so that we can be eligible for extra help. That was two weeks ago and we have yet to hear from the teacher regarding this. I am hoping that she has just been waiting for our appt, although we only just made this last week. We'll see how it goes!!

Well, it didn't take us 11 hours, but it DID take a long time and now we have to go to Stitch's school for a Parent-Teacher meeting and then Ferb and the girls are getting hair cuts. Then we will need to do homework and dinner. Tomorrow I have to get my hair done and a mani-pedi..so that's gonna keep me busy, plus we need to clean this house before we leave. I will post tomorrow...hopefully something cute for day 12!!!

Oh, and TWO DAYS LEFT!!!!!!!

Had our parent teacher conference...those are fun..especially when you have a kid that needs extra help and she's not getting it..oh well, now we have an official diagnosis on file at the school, so hopefully we can get her on track!!

Got the girls' and Ferb's haircuts..I'm next tomorrow. But, while we were sitting waiting for our turn, I noticed my throat starting to hurt, and now my head feels fuzzy.....why now?!?! I have been surrounded by sick people at work for MONTHS without getting even a headache..but now, now that my health is, if not required, at least very helpful...ARGH!!! I am taking cold f/x..please, please let it work!!!!

I know, on our first trip in 2008 we were all sick with something..the girls were on antibiotics (got us a free fridge at POP ) and I had a yucky head cold that I passed to DH during the trip... We managed and so will I, it's just disappointing isn't it?

I felt okay when I woke up this morning, but I can feel it creeping in as I type this..I want to go back to bed a sleep for a week..I hate that feeling!
