:cool1: :cool1: Love you guys! I have figured it all out- I've been whining (sorry:flower3: ) about my difficulties deciding where to stay- BC or Poly or POR. Thanks to recent posts- hello- we can split it! :dance3: Boy will that save some $$$$
How did I ever get along without disboards?

Are you doing the dining package? If you are you will need a to purchase a 1 day ticket for the second room.

yes, we are doing dining for the 6 days. I called and the CM said it is all transferable. Is this something different?

I've also read somewhere else where someone was able to do this? I'm doing a split stay and was interested but definitely not interested in purchasing a one day ticket to do so....

When I called they said no --- the CM totally understood my point and actually put me on hold a few times to double check -- but the answer still came out no?

I called probably two weeks ago regarding my upcoming visit in May.

Anyone else able to do this?

Hi ya,

I hate to be a party pooper but we had also planned a split stay at the WL and the BC but had to can the DP to achieve it. The first CM told us we could do it no problem, but when I called back to clarify a few points, the second CM called the first CM 'crazy' for telling us the DP was transferrable.

In the end we opted to stay at the Dolphin for the first portion and ditch the DP altogether. Now I'm having fun finding great CS and cheap TS options.

Helloooo Captain Cooks and ESPN :rotfl:

I have read many on the boards who split their stay yet are able to get the DP for the whole trip. Perhaps the second cm had no experience with this. I would call again or talk to a TA.

Update from my first post, we won't be doing the split either. To get the DP, we need to make two different reservations and split the park passes. This takes away the savings i had originally calculated. Bummer...:sad1:

I did some searching on the boards because I saw a discussion of this the other day. This is what I found:

1. On your first reservation, say POR you purchase park tickets for the entire trip and the dp for the time you are at POR; on your second reservation, I'll guess Poly, you purchase a one day base ticket with the dp. You save the one day base tickets for your next trip and upgrade them then to cover your new trip. The one day tickets will not expire until they are used (activated).

2. One other option worth trying - there was a post about someone who emailed Disney reservations with their predicament and phone number. A few days later a cm called this person and set the reservation up so that they weren't out any extra money. The cm explained that most of the people taking reservation don't know that it is possible.

If I were you and the first option doesn't throw your budget completely out of whack then I would make the reservation, make a payment; but don't pay the trip off now. Send the email and if you get a good response then the cm can still help you out. I say, "Don't pay it off" because on our first trip my husband thought that he was getting a huge raise and booked a stay at the Poly paying rack rates and airfare. Then we found out that there was a huge misunderstanding and it was a little raise. Since we had paid off the trip, Disney refused to budge on the price or refund the money even after we found a discount code because my husband had paid for the trip in full - at which point the reservations are locked in. The cm said that until it is paid in full you can make any changes you want. I explained why my husband was so upset to his boss (his dad) and we received a bonus to pay for the trip.

I hope that everything works out for you too and that you have as wonderful a stay as we did after getting that bonus.

I just thought of this option: you can book the first stay through cro, buy the package and purchase tickets for you entire trip; then, rent DVC points for the second part of your trip and stay at the BCV - you can get the DP when staying on DVC points without purchasing a ticket.

All of the options that I listed above seemed a little confusing at first to me so if I didn't explain them well enough just let me know.
