Like Shelby said, sometimes police think it's a prank. It's a shame that it happened, but people do prank...

Quite often operators do this, like two posters above me said, they often think it could be a prank. If the person on the other end of the line is a teen too, seems more likely it's a prank.

I'd probably have swore too. I swear way too much in general though.

The operator could have at least sorted out the ambulance first, then POLITELY reminded the person on the other end not to swear again when calling an operator.. That seems fair in my opinion.

My opinion on this is the girl should not be prosecuted the 911 dispacter should be prosecuted and fired immediately from his job. This was a life and death situation and this ****** was jerking this hysterical girl around while her dad was in serious condition.

Using the f-word is swearing, saying ***** is not really considered a "swear" word, just a curse word.
