Trying to decide between these options for restaurants for our upcoming trip. Obviously they both appeal, are equally as easy/difficult to get to, etc. One we have been to before (noted below). If everything was equal, which would you pick:

1. Boathouse or Morimoto Asia

2. Il Mulino or Cali Grill (been to Cali grill before)

thanks for your thoughts!

Boathouse is good food, I like the outdoor seating.

California Grill is always a great experience and very good food.
Our last visit earlier this month lasted over 3 hours, it was so good and relaxing.

I Have only been to Il Mulino in NYC and Miami, but delicious food in both restaurants.

You really can't go wrong with any of those choices

Morimoto and Il Mulino. Il mulino isn’t as good as Cali grill but I like to try new places so I would recommend it. We’ve eaten at all of those places and they are all great choices.

1) Boathouse

2) It depends if you would rather have a spectacular view or better food. For the view - Cali Grill. For the food - Il Mulino

Personally, I would change the options and do Il Mulino and California Grill. I know that cheating.
If I had to follow your choices:
1. Morimoto Asia, not even close
2. Tough choice as I love both, but would pick California Grill for the view and variety of menu.

Morimoto over the Boathouse for sure. The food is worlds better.
As far as Il Mulino versus California Grill, both are outstanding, but they're so incredibly different that it really is a tough choice. I'd say it's totally dependent on cuisine. If you love Italian food, you will not be disappointed by Il Mulino. If you wanted a more exotic menu, California Grill would float your boat.

Boathouse. Not a fan of Japanese food.

Not really intrigued by either of the other two - I'm gluten-free, so I have to be very careful about Italian and I'm not sure I trust a non-Disney owned Italian place to have enough options (unless I'm actually in Italy for real - they handle it so much better as a rule...I encountered at least one restaurant that has their ENTIRE MENU duplicated gluten-free!!!), and honestly California Grill is not really my style.

Boathouse is great but it depends on what you are planning on ordering. We ate at Boathouse in Oct. and had a great meal. Lobster stuffed with Crabmeat with a Bearnaise sauce was fantastic.
Morimoto has unique dishes that won't be found at many other Asian restaurants. Morimoto "Buri-Bop" is unique and the ribs are great.
I've never been impressed with Cali Grill in multiple visits, IOO it get's higher than deserved marks because of the view of the Castle and Fireworks. I've had much better meals at multiple signature restaurants across property.
Based on our personal pallet, I'd do Morimoto and then knock out the Surf and Turf at Narcoossee's which also over looks MK and was outstanding when we dined there in Oct. The food is much better than CG IOO.

Boathouse and I’ll Mulino!

Exactly... The choices are often times apples and oranges with these questions on the board. Seafood versus Asian and Italian versus Continental Cuisine are not apples and apples. So the answers should never be this restaurant is better than that one... Well it all depends on what you ordered and what you are in the mood for. Boathouse is a go to every time we go to WDW, but we know what we are going for before we arrive. We recommend checking out the menu in advance and figuring out specific dishes and then making decisions based those likely selections.
There are so many factors involved in these types of questions. Being that we live in a city that has more restaurants than any other in the country, we don't spend a lot of time eating Italian food at WDW. So keeping that in mind, we also understand that many people live in places without great Italian food and so they may seek it out while a WDW. That's why we try to be as specific as possible when it comes to answering questions about food in WDW. Plus, I can't say how many times I've told people to go to a particular restaurant and order a particular dish. Only to find out later that they dined in the restaurant unimpressed because they ordered something all together different than I suggested. Ha

Boathouse and Cali for us too. Love Sunday brunch at Cali. Not sure if they have druing Covid though.
