Well, now that baseball season has ended, I came home to find that I had LBEs stacked to the ceiling and pin binders that were woefully inadequate. I decided that I needed to find some way to store my pins and display some of them so that I would quit trading for the same pin over and over. (Anyone need an Artistry of the Earth spinner?) I thought about trying to frame some of my pins but I just could not bring myself to blame innocent pins for acts they did not do. Besides, most of our walls are filled with baseball stuff (much to the chagrin of Trina I might add). So with a free Saturday afternoon and a New Yankee Workshop marathon on PBS, I decided to don my safety goggles and enter into the exciting field of furniture building.

The table is 35 inches square and 17 1/2 inches high. It has a tempered/beveled glass top that allows you to see down through into the top drawer.

The drawers are 30 inches by 28 1/2 inches and are 2 1/2 inches deep. I lined the bottom of the drawers with 1/2 inch foam board covered in green velvet (which matches the Bank One Ballpark chairs perfectly).

The drawers can be interchanged so that I can have pins in each and refresh the display when I get tired of seeing the first set of pins. The drawers are deep enough that I plan on adding a second layer so that I can actually have 4 different sets of pins to display by rearranging the drawer layers. I got the idea after seeing some curio tables at a local furniture store and attempted to figure out how I could modify the design to be used for pins.

This was my first attempt at framing my pins for display. The only problem I have not been able to figure out is how to hang the table on the wall. Anyone have any suggestions?

......do you hire out??:D Your table is really beautiful, and a work of art in it's own right.......what a great idea! Thanks for sharing.....:)

Jeff,

That is the most original pin display I have ever seen! It's beautiful!! I am chuckling to myself because the only place I have ever seen tables like that are in the homes of hoity toity New Englanders (and no, I am not a hoity toity New Englander, but have a sister in law who believes she is ....long story....). They generally display antique maps and such in theirs. I can just imagine the expressions on their faces to come into my home, see a beautiful table like that, go to admire the antique maps and instead see Disney pins!! LOL!!! It might be worth getting a table like that just for that experience!!

You really built that table? I am very impressed...you did a beautiful job! Don't hang it on the wall, it looks good right where it is!

Nice job son but now what we need to complete the project is some landscaping and of course heating and air-conditioning.

Now as to landscaping we need to use the services of the garden rebel, who will surround your pin house with a nice assortment of vines and shrubs, but first we will take you on a tour of the nurseries located in Bracebridge Ontario Canada.

Next we need the services of Rich our heating and air-conditioning expert, who will tell how to install a nice 1200 Watt central heat unit with a solar heat exchange back up, to keep your pins cool in summer, and warm in the winter.

The exchange will so be designed to make sure that your LE pins get treated first, and then the rest will be treated on their tradability factor level only.

Make sure you pull the permits to add 220 house current to your table and we start tomorrow.

But first we will take a tour of the manufacturing plant to see your custom-made pin heat exchange unit built.

A question, is the glass made to withstand the weight of several lanyards, because when people bend down to look the pins, their lanyards will inevitably hit the glass.

What about security? Does it have room for an alarm system, because if you need one we can find a factory to take a tour of.

All things considering the table is awesome looking, and you should be proud.

Lighting did you consider lighting? I'm thinking fiber optic with alternating colors, again LE's get spotlights first.

Call me we have a lot of work to do.

Hey Jeff,

NICE JOB!!!!

Is this the next product for Arizona Lanyards?
