Last night started out badly, but after about an hour she was able to get herself to sleep. I only went in once to check on her and reinforce that it was bedtime. She cried this time, but it was a whinny cry and not the screaming hyperventilating that it was the night before.
The reason that we keep her door closed, as we did all of the kids when they were babies, is because we have to overly affectionate kitties. I don't trust them not to lay on her head at night. Also, I have tried to stay with her in her room for a while to get her calmed down and to sleep, but until she is ready to drop from exhustion she won't laydown.
Anyhow, just wanted to say that things went a little bit better lastnight. Thanks for all of the help. It sounds like kids her age have a lot of sleep issues.
