Our family has a tradition that we always go to Chef Mickey's for dinner on the day we arrive in "The World". It's our 1st exposure to that Disney Magic! We are about to go on our 5th trip, a very last minute planned trip, so I've been making last minute ressies. When I booked Chef Mickey's, I accidentally chose the 3rd of January, but I needed the 2nd of January. And, I made the ressie weeks ago, and now there's no availability! I've never tried to just walk in and get a seat. We're a family of 6. Any suggestions for us. When walking up, do you just show up at the very beginning of dinner and wait? Will it work?

You go to the front desk as when you check in with an ADR. They will tell you if they are taking walk in or not. If they are, you will probably have to wait a long time. You should keep checking online in case of cancelations. You may want to consider another restaurant to be part of your tradition. 1900 Park Fare is always fun for dinner (if available). Good Luck! Make a back up restaurant reservation. Then check online, and keep checking. When you get to your resort, have the lobby concierge check. Walking up may or may not work. Chef Mickey's is popular.

Keep trying. How about CM for your last day?

Start a new tradition....You never know. Next month you may post "The best thing was my miskake with the CM date and now we tried _____ and loved it."

Also, try calling the same day. I will often walk-up, then if denied, call wdw-dine and frequently, they'll have ressies even though they aren't taking W/U s Not sure why but whatever works!

type of mistakew ith a CM ADR - only mine was for departure day breakfast. I kept monitoring the online system and was eventually able to get the correct day. It was later than we usually go but it worked out well. We may schedule the later time for future trips.
