This may be the worst baby name I've ever heard...even worse than Jermajesty

I like Moxie (I dunno about the Crimefighter part). I like Moxie better than my name though. Ashley. Ugh. I think 1 in 3 girls my age and younger are named Ashley. My mom never was very original with names though. Oh well.

Oh, I don't know. "Ashley Kenobi" has a nice ring to it. :goodvibes

Might as well just sign that poor girl up for therapy right now :sad2:

Since I teach, I see a lot of bad names! The one that always stands out is the one a poor kid had who was not from this country - spelled Sh**head, pronounced ****h - a - ed. I thought the other teachers were joking at first...

OMG.... Have you read Steven Levitt's book Freakanomics? There's a chapter on baby names...let's just say there's more than one unfortunate Shah-teed (spelled like....well, you know) walking around.

My favorite anecdote from the book is are the parents who named their twin boys Orangejello and Lemonjello. Pronounced o-RAN-jelo and le-MON-jelo!

Snoopy, Jermajesty is one of the all time worst names (and funniest), but it's the middle name Crimefighter that put this one over the edge for me. Moxie isn't a dealbreaker, but Crimefighter?! It sounds like some comic book superhero, or something.

If you think that's bad, Jonathin Davis of the rock band Korn named his newborn son..Pirate. pirate:

You know----it is Penn & Teller. And it's not like Crimefighter is her FIRST name.

Though I'm scared of her ever being exposed to tights and capes :rolleyes1 .

Now who the heck named their kid Jermajesty...oh...I think I just got it---is it pronounced "yer" majesty....not that that makes it any better....but I was reading it as "germ" "a" "jesty". PLease say it isn't the latter pronunciation.

All this name talk make's "Apple" seem nice and sweet and normal.

Jermaine Jackson...which just makes it all the more amusing.

I think his other son is named Jafar.

Why do I know all this stuff? :confused3

That would get the kid acquitted if she killed her parents....

"I am Moxie Crimefighter, out to rid the planet of parents who name their children horrible names"

that makes Lordes, Apple, Rumor, & Scout look good

working in the Court system, I just have to pass a few choice names on:
1. Jermembulous K. - the first time he came up in court he really DID get a pass b/c the judge said he felt sorry for him, what can we expect when you do that to a child?
2. S. Beers came through - drunk driving.
3. Jesse James A. - convicted of armed robbery!
But my most favorite of all (understand that I work in felony court): Felonious and Devious - brothers, who we see on a regular basis. Now really, Mom, what do you THINK they are going to be like when you name them that?

These are just the highlights from our local court system!

I went to highschool with a Bunny Meek. Yes her given name. She later changed it to Bunny Safari???? I have no idea...

I also know a lady named Ann who married and became Ann Mann

I just read the Lemonjello and Orangejello are urban legends. :goodvibes

"Moxie" just conjures up images of a poledancer in a "gentlemans' club."

Not too long ago, I saw a football game on tv and one of the player's names was Earthwind. I just wondered if he had a twin brother named Fire.

Holy cow, really? Steven Levitt uses it as an example in Freakanomics...maybe he needs to do his research a little more thoroughly!

Although, it would not surprise me if a parent did name their twins something like this....in a world where someone would name their child Moxie Crimefighter or Pilot Inspecktor, truly anything is possible!

You were watching a Patriots game! Earthwind Moreland, and it turns out his mom is a huge Earth, Wind & Fire fan! :sunny:

That is just not right!! I am a teacher and I know how cruel kids can be. They make fun of "normal" names......I grew up hearing Linda Pinda...it does not even make any sense but I hated it and I cried. I can't even begin to think of what that little girl is going to hear....Crimefighter?? That is just mean. But who knows other kids might just think it is the coolest name ever!We named our new little one Kennedy and we heard tons of awful feedback for that one. I love it and neither Hubby or I have had a "Kennedy" in either one of our classes so we choose that. Her middle name is Amelia after my grandmother. We did tinker with Walt if she was a he...only kidding. My friend works in the city and had a little girl named Female...pronounced Famal...........hmmmmm did you just think you could only choose 2 choices female or male on the birth certificate?????She also tells me there was a Pajama enrolled a few years back. I don't believe that one........but who knows isnt Michael Jacksons son named Blanket or something like that?????
