can someone tell me what the difference is between the BWI and BWV? Is the Boardwalk Inn, the roms that could overlook the BW, while the villas are off the BW?

Also, if you are a DVC member, can you request ressies at either one or only at the BWV?

Thanks!
Terri

If you are walking up the peir after getting off the Friendship boat, the BWI is to your left, the BWV are to your right. They both have boardwalk views.

DVC members can only use points at the BWV. If they wanted to stay at BWI, they would have to make cash ressies likes everyone else.

I think you are mistaken about this. I am not a DVC member, but have seriously looked into it and DVC members can stay onsite at any Disney property with their points, not just the villas. DVC'ers..am I right??

You are totally correct Divamomto3. We are DVC members at BCV. You can use your points at all resorts but its not in your best interest to because its a lot more points then staying at DVC resort. BWI is regular hotel with regular hotel rooms. BWV is a DVC resort where anyone can stay even if you arent DVC members. BWV offers Studios, 1 Bedrooms,2 bedrooms, and Grand Villas. Staying at BWV is a lot more money then staying at BWI.

Actually, the only WDW resorts that DVC members cannot use their points are hotels associated with DVC properties. That means that at the Beach Club, WIlderness Lodge and Boardwalk Inn you cannot use your points for a room and must make a cash reservation if you want to stay there. All other WDW resorts are available for point usage but it is usually not a great value for your points.

And for the original poster...as you look at the Boardwalk Resort the side that is painted white (with ESPN, Spoodles and Flying Fish) is the Boardwalk Inn while the side painted red, yellow and blue (with the Screen Door store, Big River Grill and Jellyrolls) is the Boardwalk Villas.
