We have a trip coming up in November/December and I'm deep into planning. We scored free dining (which is a good value for us since we're staying at Pop) so I was planning to use some of the money we saved to plan one special activity. Keeping in mind that we can't afford anything super extravagant (ie Victoria and Albert's, fireworks cruises, etc), what extra special thing would you plan for a blissfully childless (lol) trip for two? :)

I've been tossing around all sorts of ideas... Bowling and dinner at Splitsville, dinner and entertainment at Raglan Road, one of the desert parties, Hoop-Dee-Doo... This is our first trip and I'm completely overwhelmed by the endless possibilities.

What have you done that you would recommend over everything else? (aside from the Christmas Party since we're already doing that)

Thanks in advance!

I personally don't recommend Hoop-Dee-Doo. I've done it twice- I don't think the food is good (dessert was amazing though) and the show isn't that great either in my opinion. We also weren't crazy about the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show. Maybe dinner shows are just not meant for my family- who knows.

I can't think of anything to recommend however, I've always wanted to eat dinner at California Grill and watch the fireworks up there.

Thanks for the suggestions. California Grill sounds really interesting! And I know my husband would love that. He really enjoys good fireworks. I'm going to look into that for sure!

As an aside, if the tiered pricing schedule I saw today for the 2016 parties is correct, there is a good chance we will skip the Christmas party. It's difficult enough to justify $70-80 (on top of your regular ticket), but if it's really going up to (basically) $100, I just don't think I can stomach it. That's just too much.

I'd rather just buy some cocoa and cookies and watch Holiday Wishes from one of several places outside the park (or from California Grill!). I can watch the parade on Youtube. lol

As someone who can't get a DVC or passholder discount, I just don't think it's worth it. The Halloween party maybe...MAYBE...but not the Christmas party. And it appears to be the more expensive of the two for some reason. ??? Can anyone tell me why this would be worth $100?

And any other recommendations for a special meal or activity are greatly appreciated. :)

I have never been but I would like to go see La Nouba the Cirque Dr Soleil show at Disney Springs.

When DH and I went without kids we snacked our way through World a Showcase and picked up a small souvenir from each country. It was fun just taking our time to tour the different shops.

Looking at La Nouba as well. Disney Visa says we can get 30% discount but no matter what website I go to the price is the same as thru Disney Visa for any date.

La Nouba is really amazing. Raglan Road is nice, but if I had to chose between the two La Nouba wins. I really enjoyed Hoop Dee Doo...lots of laughs.
