"This Isn't Disneyworld. . .It's Rainworld!!" our trip to WDW May 16-23, 2009

WOW Becky! Love all the pics of Ally's party. You really have two blessed little girls to have memories of parties like that! :cloud9:

Too bad about no pics of Disney on Ice, but I'm glad you had a good time! We saw the Monster's Inc on Ice show one year and really enjoyed it!

Claire's party invite is adorable! And Brent is going to have to get on and share his cake tips! I do cakes for friends and family, but have done only frosting and royal icing. I have yet to venture into the fondant arena! I can't wait to see how the Minnie cake turns out.

Thank you Missy!! Yes, we will definitely be doing another Disney on Ice show when they come back to Memphis! We all thoroughly enjoyed it!! :)

Claire's cake and invite look amazing!!! She is going to be so darling and cute.

One idea for her party; I can't take credit for this since another Dis-er suggested it to me for the gift bags I'm making for the kids before our trip. :thumbsup2 But you can make Rice Krispie treats in a deep pan, then use a Mickey cookie cutter to cut them out. Then you can dip the ears in chocolate, and they're just like the treats they sell on Main Street!

Happy Party Planning!!

Thank you Katie!! What a great idea!! Too bad I don't own a Mickey cookie cutter. That would be sooo cute!! :)

Becky, do you have a local disney store?!? call them and see if they have a cookie cutter if it is something you are interested in...that does sound really cute!!!

that would be a cute idea for sugar cookies on a stick, too!

We do and I was just there yesterday! I've never seen anything like that at our store, though! Thanks for the tip!! :goodvibes

Hi Becky! Ally's party was so cute. Brent did a great job on the cake too. Can't wait to see Claire's cake. I wanted to make that one for Josie's daycare party but my Mom had her heart set on it. My mom did a good job though. I think fondant is easier than buttercream because it's nice and smooth and hides flaws...plus you can find lots of cute cutters. For that dark of a red I would probably buy it. It will take a lot of kneading to dye the fondant and get it that red. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Hi Becky!
That cookie cutter is cute. I kept eye-ing it the whole trip and I kept saying I was going to come back for it, but all the sudden we were home. I was just thinking the other day I wanted to make mickey pancakes this weekend so, what I'm thinking I might do is take a paper plate and cut a mickey head out and then press it onto the cookie dough or whatever and then cut it out with a knife.
I'll try it out and let you know how it works.
Amy's birthday party is October 11th it's going to be a pool party with a dash of Tinkerbell and arts and crafts.
I might steal some ideas from Claire's party:rolleyes1

I don't remember is Claire's party this weekend or next? If next and if you are interested here is a site for the cutter
http://www.cheapcookiecutters.com/products/mickey-mouse-disney-cookie-cutter
disneyshopping.com has the same cutter at the same price (shipping $??)

if too late just ignore the post :lmao:
:wave2:

Awesome! Thanks Connie!! The birthday party is Sunday but I still might have to order me one of these!! Thank you for the link!!

Hi Barbara!! My grandpop used to make me Mickey pancakes and he just made a big pancake with smaller circles as the ears--they always turned out cute even without a form to use. Claire's birthday is actually Oct. 10th but we're having it a week early due to Fall Break.

Hi Becky!

I just finished reading your TR (I followed your link from a comment in pmama's PTR) and you have the most adorable family! Your girls are so precious! I have loved reading and seeing all of your wonderful experiences in WDW and since you've been back home. Ally's birthday was so amazing! Ariel was one of my favorites as a kid and I would have loved that tea party. It made me want to be 5 again!! :rotfl:

I'm looking forward to reading more of your TR whenever you find time to post. I know finding time must be pretty crazy right now; I don't have any kids and can't find time to update myTR!! ;)

Hi Nikky!! So glad to see you posting! I've missed seeing you here on the DIS! I'm about to post the link to Claire's birthday party pics!!

Claire's birthday party was yesterday afternoon--right after church. We invited several of her friends and some families from our Sunday School Class. I found a cute mouse ears hat pattern that I used when I taught Kindergarten (we did a Mickey Mouse Day for the letter M)--so I traced and cut them out for all of the kids to wear during the party. So each kid got a hat when they arrived. We had lunch for everyone (pizza) and had cupcakes (I decorated) and cake (that Brent made and decorated). After that we did a craft where we made paper Mickeys and Minnies (also an activity from when I taught K). Then Claire opened presents. It was a pretty low-key party but everyone seemed to have a great time! Here's the link to the pics: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=36816&id=1035906284&l=8ad5b36cd1.

Thank you Jackie!! Thanks!! All I did was ice the cupcakes in white icing. Then I took some black decorator icing that I bought in at Kroger (it came in this can with different decorator tips). I chose the tip that makes flowers and just freehanded the Mickey heads. Then I used red sprinkles to add some color.

Another great party Becky!
