This Is Why I Don't Vote Early.....!!!

Yep, that's what I said. Voter fraud is disgusting but apparently it's also conceptual. See, I don't think Jennifer Brunner chose any one group as a target, I think she instructed her employees to follow the letter of the law. If that rule needs to be changed, let's do it. You act as if you are not aware of the huge battle going on in this state because of past election fraud and that Jennifer Brunner has taken on Diebold/Premier, the Republican Party, Blackwell and many others and won. Of course, reading people like Malkin for your information would skew your thinking in one direction. Even the conservative Dispatch has reported in a fairly obvious place about all the voting issues in this state.

ITA!

Everyone should be outraged at the voter fraud and voter manipulation. I don't care if you are a Dem, Rep, Ind, Green, etc, all votes should count.

Those Diebold machines worry the crap out of me. The evidence out there of how easy it is to change votes should worry everyone.

I have a cold right now so excuse me if my thoughts seem a little foggy.

It seems that one of the reasons many hate Bush being President (notice I did not say hate him personally) is that it is believed he stole the election due to some type of illegal voter atctivity. Hate began to manifest itself and this may or may not have led to the various problems we have now in this country. If these types of illregularities are continuing, than one side or another is going to claim fraudulent election and the cycle of hate and lack of getting anything done will continue. This win at any cost behavior must stop!

That is the problem, she was not following the law. All that is required, according to the law, is the last four digits of your social or your driver license number. It says nothing about having a box checked saying you are an eligible voter.

I sent in my request for an absentee ballot last week. Mine came from the elections board, not a party, and had no such box that needed to be checked. I believe that the court ruled against her this week and she has to accept the ballots.

You and I both know what Ken Blackwell did during our elections here in Ohio. the voters of Ohio knew and they threw him out of the state for it. He is a criminal, he's a known associate of Rod Parsley and Hagee and Rove used him to fix the Ohio election. I've been to the hearings about that election. I delivered food(pizza, chicken, hamburgers, water) to the precincts where he removed the voting machines so people could eat while they waited. Other people from our union gathered children, took care of their needs and tended to other issues the people in line needed done so they could vote. We didn't tell them how to vote or who we were except where children were concerned. What they knew was that they were determined to vote and that they had other responsibilities that waiting 4-5 hours would not allow. People who had arrived at 5:30pm were still in line at 11pm. I stood beside my union president while she spoke to Blackwell personally, about needing the voting machines he had ordered removed and locked up in a warehouse downtown. I have personal knowledge of all of this. You have theories.

If you think Jennifer Brunner is going to jeopardize your ability to vote, better vote early. You just might end up in a precinct short of voting machines. Oh and Franklin county is the one of a few counties in all of Ohio that does not have the flawed machines but do you really want to cast your ballot on a machine that could actually make your vote count for the other guy?

We will have to agree to disagree about why Blackwell wasn't elected. While some if it may have been due to fraud allegations, I think that the majority of Ohioans were against him due to his ties to Bob Taft. Taft was without a doubt the worst Gov. that this state has seen. His approval rating were in the single digits when he left office. People from both parties hated that man, not to mention the independents.

As for fraud. The idea that since one side commits fraud it is OK for the other side makes me feel sorry for our future. How about fighting the fraud on BOTH sides! Maybe if we don't take this crap from either side we will truly have fair and open elections. We all have to fight against it, not just if it hurts "our guy".

I think you're probably right, at least in the beginning but I think his poor job performance and inability to "work and play well with others" is what people dislike about him now.

Students in Ohio are voting.....and voting......and voting..... and voting.. They are bragging they can (and are) voting several times. They can go home...if they live in another state.....and vote ....one more time. I just can't get over what the problem is with having to show an id to vote. Oh,....I get it  ...that cuts down on voter fraud.

You might want to take this up with the McCain campaign, while you're at it.

At issue were applications mailed to voters by the campaign of Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, which contain a box next to a statement declaring that the applicant is a "qualified elector," as required by Ohio law. Thousands of registered voters, however, have returned the applications seeking an absentee ballot without checking the box.

I love all this heresay (college students voting multiple times, homeless people being bussed to Chicago to vote again) without any proof, all conjecture and theory and of course its all being done by Obama supporters. Yeah, because we need to steal the election in CHICAGO. Makes perfect sense.

The story in the Op seems legit to me on both sides. It makes perfect sense for a SoS to reject ballots where the voters do not check that they are eligble to vote in that state. We have a similiar box on our CA absentee ballots and it states in bold red letters that our ballots are not valid unless the box is checked. On the other hand the fact that only the McCain ballots have this box and the state provided ones do not makes it open for interpretation as to whether that box is necessary for the ballot in that state. Apparently the judge thought that was enough of an argument.

The thing is voter fraud exists, and on both sides of the aisle. The fact that the Diebold systems with known issues and no paper trail are still in use is frankly terrifying and sickening. The fact that a candidate (any candidate) can make and distribute absentee ballots that are different from the state made ones is disturbing. They can not do that in CA. The fact that anyone would try and vote multiple times (if in fact they did) makes a mockery of the whole system. It's all bad and it all needs to be fixed.

Here we register in advance, then have to go to our official polling place where are name is crossed off the list and we recieve our ballot or we can vote by mail if we had registered to do so. If we go to a different polling place, or our name is not on the list of registered voters we can only cast a provisional ballot, that is not counted unless they can verify eligibility to vote. Licenses are not used to id voters because they cost money to get and it would be the equivalent of a poll tax. The way around the poll tax laws would be to provide free government issued identification cards for voting purposes but I am sure there are some who would have issue with that as well.

I don't think you ought to be able to vote without a valid license or state id. For absentee ballots I think you should have to photocopy your drivers or state id onto an attached sheet. Also in national elections they ought to have the same rules from state to state. I am sick of the fraud. If I have to show an ID to write a check, make a credit card purchase or board a domestic flight you should have to show one to vote.

In Indiana you are required to show a government issued picture ID to vote on election day. The Democrats fought against this in court and lost. The state will issue ID's for no charge. The Democrats found the loophole, in that mailed absentee ballots don't require a picture ID. The local election that took place last year is being investigated for absentee ballot abuse. The results aren't in yet, so I won't comment beyond that.

This is reportedly happening in Ohio. The comment I heard was after a man voted....he said he had to get back on the bus.....so he could go back to Chicago.

ACORN is reportedly involved. Is there a connection between Obama and ACORN?

Oh course, anything that isn't documented in a source you approve of has no merit either. It's a little difficult to document anything when the SoS, in Ohio, has banned monitors. I guess the workers, that are registering voters, are lying.

ACORN is good at what they do.

The Ohio Supreme Court rules on Friday that the Sec. of State MUST accept the ballots regardless of having a box checked or not.

"In an eight-page decision, the unanimous court slammed Secretary Jennifer Brunner for telling county boards of elections to not accept the applications because a box on the forms is not marked, calling her directions erroneous and unreasonable.

"No vital public purpose or public interest is served by rejecting electors' applications for absentee ballots because of an unmarked check box next to a qualified-elector statement," the court wrote.

The decision was unanimous. Even the two Republicans that were up for election recused themselves from the case.

Sorry I don't have a link to that story. I saw the interview of the man that said it on a local newscast a few days ago. I am not going to waste my time hunting for it.

Today there was another report with info from this site. Take a look at the videos to get a feeling for some of the stuff going on. This site also has pro Obama stories as well so I don'y believe that they are one sided.
