I'm currently on Atkins. I'm doing well, but my upcoming vacation will be a problem with staying on program.
I was reviewing this list last night. I have no idea how I'll manage to eat healthy while doing all these meals on vacation:

Day 1: Nascar Cafe Lunch
Day 2: Pastamore Dinner
Day 3: Margaritaville Dinner
Day 4: Hoop de doo dinner
Day 5: Chef Mickey's breakfast
O'hanna's dinner
Day 6: No planned meals
Day 7: Kona cafe Breakfast
chef mickey Dinner
Day 8: O'hanna's breakfast
Hollywood & vine dinner

I don't think Breakfast will be a problem, since I can always have bacon and eggs. The dinners will be difficult, mainly because of the deserts. Anyone have any ideas of safe items to eat at these restaurants? I'm looking to stay on maybe 60grams of carbs a day while on vacation.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Have it in your mind that you will always have a low carb breakfast. Try to have meat and veggies for your other meals. This shouldn't be too difficult because every rest. has meat, even the pasta rest.. I order chicken marsala at Olive Garden all of the time.

But if you do have something other than meat, don't get in a frenzy. Enjoy your vacation. It's not every week you go to the world. Just try to keep things in check. Maybe you could decide on only having dessert every other night, or pick the four best places for dessert and skip the others.

I didn't do low carb when I was there a while ago, I just tried to watch it. I didn't exercise at all before that trip, so all of the walking I did at WDW was a real calorie burner. I came home and I had lost 2 pounds.

I think you'll be OK. :D

I hear ya.............I am a dessert nut especially on vacation. I love to splurge well why not bring something with you............
Atkins LC choclate bars.......... or the atkins shakes and real choclaty and very filling.if you have one of those after you eat will be full for sure! and dont yourself up over it perhaps alternate one night no dessertm one night dessert..............

Boy do I hear you. I am going in a little more than 2 months and I know for sure I will get the No Way Jose at B&C while we are there. All that sugar ought to put me in a frenzy. I will splurge some while there and get right back OP when we return. Good luck.

we went away for a weekend last time in Feb. I found that eating smart was not so hard and I actually dropped a pound, even after my (not so smart)scarf fest at Whispering Canyon the last morning.

while at IOA you should try the low carb options at Mythos. Haven't tried them myself but have heard they are very good. Would be a much better choice that pastamore' IMHO... I love Pastamore' but it would be hard to keep the carbs count down.

We have a gift certificate to Pastamore's. That's why we are going. I'm going to try and have some sort of chicken dish, with veggies. I'll pass on the pasta.
I actualy heard very good things about Mythos. I heard they have this chocolate/bananna cake that is real yummy. I'm real tempted to make that a special treat while us Universal.
Can you tell me a little about the low carb menu?
