Have a WONDERFUL trip.
There is nothing like the excitement of the kids before a trip!
I am not thrilled about all the changes that have gone on at Disney lately, but when it all comes down to it....it is the memories we make and the joy of the little experiences that make it the most special place on earth.
I am leaving a month from today to celebrate my DD's 21st in Disney with her and it seems like yesterday she was a 3 year old so excited for her first trip to the World.
Enjoy every second of it, it is gone in a flash!!!

I so miss the joy of experiencing WDW with my children. They are all grown up now and it is me who gets all giddy about the trip. You wouldn't know it by talking to me, my secret is for members of DIS only as I feel my friends and family would think I'd lost my mind.

My kids have been a few times before and we still have that magic (they're 11 and almost 14 now). Maybe its because it will have been 3 years since our last trip. Maybe it's because I'm so enthusiastic. I don't know but it's only 148 more days to go and no amount of negative FP+ talk will dim our excitement!

Love it!!! I have a DD6 and DD 3 as well! We went in October and we still talk about our trip!

Disney has a special magic all it's own. It is different for each family but magic nonetheless. I have friends and family that do not understand the draw to Disney for our family. Of course they have never been there and been able to feel the joy of childhood as an adult alongside their children so they don't get it. Our children have all made memories there and now our oldest daughter is passing on this joy with her own daughter.

You are SO RIGHT, OP!!! I couldn't agree with you more, and we are heading for family trip #10 in Oct. We've seen our kids grow up at WDW, from 15 mos. old to 9 yrs old this next trip. We wouldn't trade any of that time for anything in the world.

We are headed to Disney World for our 9th family trip at the end of March. 51 days!!!

My kids 17 and 12 are very excited and can't wait to go. They really surprise me sometimes, my husband and I will be discussing our plans and they will chime in with suggestions out of the blue and we really liked that restaurant. We like that ride it is great how involved they have become over the years. I think DD 12 could plan a trip for us at this point.

We made a countdown chain the other day, it is becoming more real and exciting the closer it is to trip time.

Yes that is truly the Disney Magic!!!

We are going in 10 days for our 4th trip in 4 years and ALL my kids ds16, ds13, dd7 and dd3 have been counting down! The closer it gets the bigger the smiles! Love it!

My kids dd12 and dd10 have been counting down until our trip (which isn't until May). This will be their 10th trip and every time we go they act like it is their first. We do a countdown calendar in our home and we have to talk about our trip nonstop at the dinner table (yes, my DH gets very involved in the the conversation too ). OP, you are 1000% correct in saying that that is the the true magic of WDW . Have an awesome trip.

Forget a 'like' button; I want a LOVE button! THIS is a great post! You have the right attitude. It's not about how much you can or can't do, how many rides you can or can't ride, FP+, DDP, or whether or not you can finish a touring plan.

We are taking our DD8 for her first trip to Disney in March. It's my first trip since 1990 and DH's first trip since 1978. For all intents and purposes, it's a first trip for all 3 of us when you consider how much Disney has changed since 1978 and 1990.

What's important for us to remember is that we are on vacation. And we will relax. If we only get to ride one headliner, so be it. There's plenty to do at every park. You just have to be flexible enough to enjoy it.

Especially with little ones, remember:

They really don't know very much about WDW. I am sure you know if they are talking about meeting Mickey or a Princess or 'Mater, so make sure to do that, but THEY WON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE MISSING.

What i mean by that is Don't try to make an exhausetd 3 year old to stay up to watch the Wishes Fireworks...they won't know they didn't see the fireworks. They will just be cranky. If there is an hour line for Peter Pan, they won't know they missed it. If they are having fun playing in a playground area, don't rush them out to make it to the park.
If they want some pool time, don't tell them "later, later" to rush them to the parks. They don't know about things like "waking up Tinkerbell" (if they still do that) so if it works out, great, but if you have to get them up super early and drag them to the park at 7:30am to do it, they won't miss it.

So sweet! My kids are SO excited for their upcoming trip. We are veterans at this point and the magic just doesn't go away for them. The reason we go to WDW isn't just the rides, it's everything else. The theming, the magic, the characters. Maybe that's why I'm not too stressed about FP+.

What a wonderful post! My advice. Take pictures. I took pictures the first couple of years and then got sick of lugging around the (much bigger) cameras.

June 2012 my oldest graduated 8th grade and we did a massive farewell trip to WDW 10 days at the park then a 7 night on the Fantasy.

Last year I started planning my youngest DD's graduation trip to Italy. Bought hundred's of dollars in DVD's, Rosetta Stone for Italian, spent hours looking at hotels, opened a British Airways Credit Card, picked hotels. Then what happened. At dinner one night they both said they missed WDW can we go there instead. OK with me!

We have so many memories and 99% of those have nothing to do with attractions. A very aggressive duck making me hop on a chair, me leaving my umbrella on WTP and having to stand there and wait for the ride to come all the way around, two very tired little girls asleep at dinner
