This is us..

They are definitely referring to it as the Fall Finale, so I'm sure it will be back later in January or February.

Next weeknis just the winter finale. It will be back in early 2017 for the rest if the season. Many shows do that now.

From what I read, it is the first season's finale. I read that it was picked up for season 2, but do not have a 2017 release date yet. Who knows though because other sites are calling it a "fall finale."

I am nervous because I just read the title of the next show is "Last Christmas." Oh my heart, I think we will lose Jack and/or William.

The kids are young in the flashbacks they shower did previews so I don't think it's jack. They do show the doctor that delivered the kids. Maybe it's him? I hope it's not William either.

OH NO. I try not to read previews so that I get to keep the element of surprise. There may be a lot of dust in my eyes during that episode..

The previews for next week say winter Finale. IMDB says the first season has 18 episodes and that new episodes will begin airing in January.

This is the preview that I read for the next episode. I put it in white in case some wanted to be surprised.

When Kate comes down with appendicitis on Christmas Eve, the Pearsons take her to the hospital, where they run into Dr. K, who they realize needs their support; Kevin celebrates Hanukkah with Olivia's family.

Oh my God. Guys. That ending. That episode. This is the best show on TV right now. I laugh and cry and just feel so many feels. And tonight's episode. Oh my God.

Also (spoiler-ish):

"Dad, Grandpa is gay! Or at least bi." Her delivery. On point.

Holy......cow. Did not see that coming. (Not the boyfriend well didn't see that either but not the hospital scene I expected) But on a high note yay Sloane and no Olivia.

New to the thread, but not new to the show. Having adopted both of our children I'm drawn to this show like a moth to a flame. That being said, I was NOT expecting tonight's ending. Holy moly, the previews played with my mind. I would have never guessed tonight's show, anxiously awaiting January 10th.

I liked the finale but it seemed to me that making William gay was a last minute decision. There was no indication that he had a love interest prior to tonight and maybe I'm misremembering but I thought he did really love Randall's bio mom and her death kinda set him up to get clean. Anyway, I just felt it was not necessary. Not bad, but not necessary, just another dramatic plot twist.

When Toby showed up, I wanted to jump up and down. I haven't always liked him but tonight was perfect. OMG the ending......

The balcony scene between Randall and Andy - what the heck? Was it real or Randall's imagination? Did Andy just vanish back inside the minute Randall's wife stepped outside? Too abrupt for my taste.

Well, very glad to not have the 'last Christmas' scenario I was expecting with Randall dying. But I am not sure I'll watch this show next season. Too many twists and turns and solved dramas. They set up all these dramas and sometimes, most of the time, it's just so unrealistic and contrived.

*meant William not Randall... dying.

I don't get the whole William being gay thing.:confused3 I agree it feels last minute. I have to admit I got a little teary when they were at the hospital with the doctor. Then when Randall bought him the snow globe.:sad1: Toby showing up was a surprise. I'm guessing he will live because "Nothing bad ever happens on Christmas Eve."
