This Is Us- Season two

NBC should give Crockpot a spot in between Superbowl and This is us... Its a wonderful product. I thought as soon as the episode aired, uh oh, wonder what Crockpot thinks. I would hope people would just replace their really old ones, or be more mindful of safety. I was a little worried until I read the Crockpot statements and they convinced me, its not going to just burst into flames if I use it correctly. There's so many safety features that protect the consumer. I've been retweeting from them to show my support.
The discussion on who's hot... Milo all the way, although I would not turn Sterling down either!!

Since the writers have said we haven't guessed Jack's death yet (and I am not one to be obsessed with it), I'm going to give my $0.02.

Remember the scene in the beginning when Rebecca went to Jack while he was still in bed on Super Bowl Sunday and did the OJ/Vodka
"traditional" shots and Rebecca said yours just has OJ, which made me believe her shot had the vodka. Perhaps Rebecca gave him the
wrong shot glass and after the shot, began craving the alcohol again, which made him start drinking and then he died of
drinking and driving or something to do with drinking?

Just thought it was a scene that was purposely shown that I haven't seen mentioned here or on FB.

Although, Justin deserves much appreciation...Milo is more my type. He’s the total package IMO

I’m pretty sure she said, “This year it’s just OJ” not “Yours is just OJ.” I can’t see Rebecca having alcohol in the house when he is newly sober.

Edited: She says, “I brought our traditional shots but it’s orange juice this year, not whiskey.”

Well that makes a lot of sense LOL Thanks.

It’s Justin’s birthday today :bday:

I didn’t really think about it at the time but I don’t like the fact that we know Randall went to the movie Titanic the night of the fire and that’s it was Super Bowl Sunday. I can remember what I was doing at that time. How dare I enjoy my life while the Pearsons were dealing with such tragedy LOL

I just watched last weeks episode today.
We were in NYC all week, we went to a taping of Stephen Colbert and what does he talk about in his opening monologue??? The crockpot and all the backlash!! I was so mad to get a spoiler about what happened on the show from of all people Stephen Colbert, LOL
So I knew it what was coming. But I thought it was strange to just switch it off too, I usually unplug it completely to clean it.

Also, does anyone else have Comcast Xfinity and are only able to extend 30 minutes on to the end of a DVR'd show? It use to let me add up to 3 hours.

We were at WDW last week and didn't see the show til we got home, but I read some news online about the crockpot and whether or not Rival should sue the show for defamation of product. (The news article concluded that Rival wouldn't have much of a case.) If we need to extend the recording of a t.v. show longer than a few mins we just record the program following the one we want.

I do, and I noticed the same change! I just followed the "record the next show" advice too.

They better not!!!

Is Randall also going to die soon? 'This Is Us' creator weighs in

For "This Is Us" fans, every episode is bursting with clues about Jack's demise. But, after last week's episode, some fans have been worrying we'll soon be grieving another Pearson's death.

The fretting started after viewers witnessed an ominous moment between Randall (Sterling K. Brown)and Kevin (Justin Hartley) when Randall mournfully points out their dad "has already been gone longer than we had him."

Randall also reveals he can't picture himself living to be an old man either — and that's when fans began worrying Randall may not be long for this world.

Kevin's response didn't help matters. "You’re not going anywhere anytime soon, right? You got your health, you got a beautiful family… You got a tough-as-nails, kick-*** wife who literally will not let you die on her. You’re not going anywhere," he tells Randall.

But viewers needn't worry, says the show's creator Dan Fogelman.

"I can assure everybody that we’re not killing Randall this season, so everybody can relax," Fogelman told Entertainment Weekly with a laugh, adding. "I think they would burn my house down."

They better not kill him any season

I don’t see how that is an “ominous moment.” The things people read into.

I forgot to post the rest it. not that it matters
Ah. That’s a normal everyday kind of conversation when you’re talking about someone who has passed or you’re getting older though. I think people think this show is always going to be a mystery that needs to be solved. I don’t think that’s ever been the intention.

I agree. It’s not Lost. With Lost i paid attention to every detail. I don’t get that vibe from this show.

I don't think the next episode is going to be as clean as Jack dies in the fire. The other scenes don't add up.

Rebecca is wearing the Superbowl shirt she wore previously that day, not pajamas, when she drives up to the burnt house....in that blazing fire, she had time to change her clothes?

How come none of the kids at Miguel's house are in pajamas & none "look" like they've been in a fire?

If Jack died in the fire, how were his belongings retrieved & in decent condition? Rebecca drives home with a Ziploc bag with his wedding band, his watch, keys, etc..?

I'm thinking that is not the whole story & there's going to be a major twist there...

In the scene for the next episode, they show Rebecca and Kate at the time of the fire and they are wearing regular clothes, not pajamas.

Also, a ring, watch, and keys are metal. If they were being worn, Jack could have been taken to the hospital and those items removed from his person and put in a bag.

My Aunt surprised me today saying that she had a crock pot fire. It was about 43 years ago, luckily my uncle (her brother) happened to run into the house at the right time, went upstairs to get something, came back down to leave and saw the fire. There was damage to the pot, the wall and the counter top. The store she bought it at (2 years before) notified the company when she brought it back, and the company that made the crock pot paid for the repairs at her house.

The day after the Super Bowl, there’s a good chance that TV fans won’t be talking about the big game, but rather, the big fire. NBC is airing a special This Is Us following the game, and it will finally be revealed how Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) dies, once and for all.

“I don’t know if people are going to be ready for the next episode. I’m not. I haven’t seen it yet,” Mandy Moore, who plays Rebecca Pearson in the NBC drama, told Us Weekly in an exclusive interview. “I mean, I filmed it and it was really hard on every level. I think it’s … I think it’s gonna be a good soul-crusher.”

“Everything will be answered. We’re leaving nothing on the table. Everyone will know everything,” Moore continued. “I’m excited about that, because I feel like it’ll sort of relieve a little bit of pressure. People will know, and then we’ll be able to get back to telling the story of this family, and I think it’ll make things that much more bittersweet moving forward too.”

The episode was written by the show’s creator, Dan Fogelman, and may be “his best hour of television,” star Sterling K. Brown told Entertainment Weekly. “It is cinematic, it’s epic in scope. He is able to take the mundane and turn it into a superhero movie,” Brown explained. “Each one of us, once we read it we were like, ‘Did you read this yet? Yeah. It’s off the chain!’ We were giddy.”

Speaking to Us Weekly about the big episode, Ventimiglia said it’s “definitely going to hurt” to watch.

“In the short amount of time, people have really grown to love Jack, and Jack and Rebecca, and the family and the kids and the adult big three,” the Gilmore Girls alum noted. “I think this is just one of those moments where you know it’s on its way. And it’s going to sting. It’s going to hurt. But I think ultimately, hopefully, people can accept and hold the memory of Jack with a full heart and move that into their lives.”

This Is Us will air on NBC following the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 4.
