This is Us- Season six

I wish I wasn't the one to say this but maybe it hits too close to home.

Rebecca confessed that she left the door unlocked to Toby. That takes enormous trust and vulnerability to admit that. She didn't have to and he would have never been the wiser. Toby later turned it on Kate. "The door you taught him to open. Who does that with a sighted toddler, let alone a blind child?"

More of Toby's comments from The Fight:
"Maybe I would have heard the click if you weren't yelling all the time"

"Okay you need to sleep"

"You are losing your mind right now."

If you are not familiar with this type of emotional abuse, it is a classic example of gaslighting. So difficult to watch. Getting off my soapbox now. Kate needs to leave him sooner than later
I guess I may not be remembering it correctly but I'm pretty sure it was Kate that said she left the door unlocked after letting the plumber in. And if she hadn't mentioned it and had just let Toby ride all the heat, that would make her a bit of a beast, no? Oh wait...

Yes, it was Kate that left the door unlocked when the plumber came in.

Also, didn’t Kate teach Jack how to unlock the door anyways? Maybe I’m misremembering, but when they left for the park wasn’t opening the door part of the song?

Yes, it was Kate. That's where (if they were doing better) they could have banded together in the fact they both missed a "layer of defense" or it wouldn't have happened, and decided not to blame each other.

When Jack wanted to help answer the door, it was still Kate unlocking the deadbolt, but she was teaching Jack the "turning the knob" part.

I definitely agree that both Kate and Toby were hard on each other this episode - each very judgmental of the other. Sadly, I think it was a very effective portrayal of what can happen to people in real life. Once someone decides that they are "done with" someone else, everything that other person does seems worse than before, and stuff they used to overlook (or even find endearing) becomes impossible to live with. :(

I was scrolling People magazine on FB and saw this picture. I think whoever stated earlier that Chrissy Metz is wearing padding this season is right. You can tell in this pic. Looks like there might be a big reveal at some point. 1649390772241.png

I think there are few of us who didn't see at least a glimpse of ourselves in Kate and Toby's bickering that day and the ultimate fight. It did make me take a step back personally and I hope the next time an issue arises I will take pause and think about what the other person is dealing with at that moment as well. We tend to be in our own world sometimes when there is chaos and not aware of what the other person is dealing with-- ie Kate yelling at Toby to help while Toby had Jack.

I saw a video of Chrissy Metz this week celebrating a Wordle win. She looked the same. No drastic weight loss.

Thanks, I missed that and just looked it up!
I play Wordle too and love that so many people are into a word game. 😃📖

One photo she posted as an ad, it looked like she lost weight and then there was an award show where she looked like she's the same. While I hope she has, at the moment I don't think it's the case so if they show she did I'll be very shocked and happy for her.

That was my error! Yes, I meant Kate confessed to Yoby she didn't lock the door. Changed my original post. Sorry for the confusion!!

It's possible if she did lose a lot of weight and she has to wear padding to things like award shows to not give anything away. Although, that would suck if that is the case.

Chris Sullivan (Toby) has commented that it has changed him, given him moments of thought in his own relationships.

I watched the episode again. It was brilliant on the second watch.

I personally was very impacted by Toby. Watching him quietly show his pain while sitting at Jack's bed. I found that one scene emotionally heart wrenching.
