So, for whatever reason it looks like the thread about the show has disappeared. Maybe it’s something that got lost in the rumoured hack.

We’ll finish this season here and hope for the best.

Not a huge fan of today’s episode. It just seemed very day to day life tonight.

Randall doesn’t seem too happy about Kevin coming out for a visit. Maybe because he knows it will be a difficult conversation. Who knows..

Oh, if you haven't watched yet, stop reading..

really, stop reading....

ok, I warned you

GO AWAY SOPHIE AND GO AWAY ARMY LADY.

I thought it was just okay. Interesting to see how Kevin did not want to become estranged from Randall like Jack and Nicky. I felt bad for Kate, her boss is kind of hard to please but she really fits in with the kids. Sad to see Toby becoming depressed. This could be the beginning of a downward spiral for him.

Lol...I liked last nights, but it definitely wasn't my favorite...although it might have had my most favorite line/interaction....

Kevin looking at Nicky when he said oh the guying that's bsnging my brother's wife... "well uhhh I like to call her mom" lol...I rewound it to watch it twice...sooo funny.

I forgot about that, but yeah, I watched that part a few times too lol

I have to say, my respect for Miguel went way up after this episode. He doesn't take crap from anyone--not Jack, not Nicky, not Rebecca's dad. I thought Nicky was being a total jerk. I'm sure he would say it's because he's a hermit, but, rude is rude.

Nicky was very rude. I get it though, it was jealousy. I laughed when he was tearing into Miguel about how he swooped in on Rebecca etc. and Kevin yells, "what the he** Nicky!" Nicky is like a loose cannon. I did appreciate his apology to Miguel at the end.

I didn’t love the episode, but I enjoyed it. I’m actually really liking Madison more and more. I too thought Nicky was rude, but I enjoyed understanding the context for both him and Miguel in their phone conversation at the end.

The smile from Sophie at the end looked like a “I’m really happy for him” type and I hope it stays that way! I hope it doesn’t mean we’re going to see more of her.

I really wonder if Madison and Kevin get married. Do we see her in the future?

Nicky was definitely jealous of what Jack had and than Miguel. Laughed that he had the baby monitor on his shirt when they were outside. Kevin and Madison sure don’t act like they have twins...you think bed time would be a 2 person thing.

Thought the shot was weird at the park with Jack strapped in his stroller behind Toby, where was Hailey. I understand the COVID thing. He did say he didn’t enjoy being home. Not everyone can do it , I hear it all the time from people who ask what I do at home all day...lol

That's how I took it as well...I thought it was all 3 of them saying "good for him."

Something I'm not understanding is why it seems it's being written as if there should absolutely be tremendous tension in regard to race between Kevin, Kate and Randall? I understand the concept that there may be issues regarding interracial adoption, particularly for the adoptees, that the adoptive family, loving and bonded though they may be, do not understand, relate to, or see. But why should there suddenly be tension and a feeling that Kate and Kevin haven't had a normal sibling relationship with Randall?

End of the day I don't think any of them can conceive of the idea that they're anything but siblings, it's all they've ever known. Adults made the decisions that the three kids simply grew up understanding as normal life for them. Adult Randall is only beginning to conceive of the idea that his growing up included some experiences that his Pearson family was unaware of. Jack and Rebecca made genuine and loving attempts to address any issues relating to adoption and race that they were aware of. Kevin and Kate were children in the situation for the most part. If Randall didn't share things with Kevin and Kate and they didn't happen in front of them, how were they supposed to be aware Randall maybe needed help, needed to talk to them, etc? Suddenly now racial difference means there's no sibling bond? I think it's much more nuanced than that.

I understand racial matters are important and need to be addressed in order for our society to function in a healthy way. But I honestly think the writers are trying to almost hit the issue with a very large hammer many, many times very, very hard wherever they can in an attempt to fix society and are seriously giving short shift to the loving bond of this family with their weird Thanksgiving traditions, and the big gestures, and all the stupid family jokes and sibling squabbles that made them all feel like a loving family. Love is love, and this family endeared itself to the audience by leading with it.

I don’t see it as them not supposed to have a bond. I think Keven and Randall are still weird because of that huge on the lawn arguement from last season.

We haven’t seen her in the flash forwards, but they couldn’t have had there there in past seasons because we’d be like hey, why the heck is Madison there lol

We haven’t seen Kate there yet either. It doesn’t mean she isn’t there, they’ve just kept us guessing so far.

So I felt like Zoey and the army girl looked like they had a "good for him" smile but Sophia had a different look to me....hmmm

I thought the episode was okay. I agree Nicky was very rude, but glad he called Miguel. I'm also wondering if Madison and Kevin will actually get married. I also wonder if Kevin and Randall can get back in a good place.

I thought this episode was more interesting than I had expected..... Beth's Mom sure is changing her attitude! I really am starting to like that dynamic...... I feel like that was a major part of the storyline that was sort of underplayed.... I also thought the park scene was kind of odd....like the toddler strapped into a stroller, not playing, while two parents chat and watch other kids playing.... just set up all wrong and made me laugh :rotfl2: I think Kates new boss will learn to appreciate her,I also think we will find out why he didn't like her initially.... I like a bit more of the Miguel back story too....

He pretty much said why, that she wasn't qualified and she basically got the job because she was friendly with the woman who worked there.

hmmm I must have missed that bit...(too many people talking in the room!)

Lol. I believe he said it to her when she was on the phone looking at the picture of them at the park and was getting upset and that's when he told her. I'm guessing he was mad that he was going to work with someone that he felt only got the job because the boss liked her and he'd be stuck teaching her all day and interfere with his work with the kids.

We stopped watching this season because we felt the show was just getting to racist. I enjoyed the show previously even with the racial undertones but it was just getting to be too much for us. Didn't care for it so we changed the channel.

Your decision, but I don’t understand how you can say it’s racist when 1/3 of the cast is Black. It would be disingenuous to not discuss race. To pretend that everything moved harmoniously within the family.
