No, unfortunantely coffee is no longer free in RipTides. But they will top off your refillable mug with coffee or soda during breakfast times. No more Beaches & Cream at breakfast either- RipTides or the YC Lobby Bar are your quick (or not so quick, depending on how early you get down there) breakfast choices.

Beer allowed at SAB!!!? Not only is it allowed, they make it easy for you. If you don't want to stand in line at Hurricane Hannah's, just look for the pool area waiter or waitress- they will be the ones with the tray in hand, little blue shorts & white sailor shirt- let them know where you are sitting - remind them not to forget where you are sitting - and order whatever you like; beer, something frozen, or something with one of those little umbrella thingies (you can also order food from them) then just sit back, soak up some WDW/BC rays and enjoy yourself - your drink is on its way. And have one for me!

Question - On the Epcot Early entry day - can you walk from the BCV to the enterance by the waterway or do you have to bus arround to the main enterance? My wife and I are returning to The World at the end of September and are planning our trip. Thanks ahead - Steve

Between the aerial pic and the complete directions- I know I won't go wrong with staying at the YC!!! It's been a hard choice for me - trying to decide between the Dolphin and the YC. I really did not "see" the whole picture before... Thanks again- what a nice bunch of people By the way- I think I have made the final choice now -we're going with the YC!!!

Leaving in 7 days...still wondering on whether I should go for the refillable mugs at BC. They were worth every penny in WL, but I am confused about BC--there are no self-serve places to refill the mugs? We will be spending a lot of time at the hotel...maybe it's worth standing in all the lines to get refills? Advice needed! Thanks in advance!

We purchased mugs the first time we stayed at BC-My DS (then 13) was our runner and got our refills from B&C and HH.
This past May we did not purchase mugs but got a coffee maker in the room. We bought the larger bottles of soda in the gift shop and stowed them in the ice bucket or sink filled with ice. We found it to be much more convenient (albeit a bit more expensive).

On Epcot EE days, you can enter through the International Gateway. They have it roped off so that you can walk past Britain and Canada and enter through the backway. It's a bit of a walk but beats driving or taking the bus.

Traded my timeshare in Key West to get into BCV.... works well as how often can you go to Key West? ... Well - nevermind that.

When I made the trade - I had to pay a $100 DVC fee...no problem. Durring that time I requested a room (we are staying in a 1br villa) with an Epcot view.....any other tips or advise that will help our chances of getting a "room with a view"?

Did someone say there is no more breakfast at Beaches and Cream. My daughter loved the mickey doughnuts. She's 18 ( will always be a kid when it comes to Disney) and has already asked me if we get to eat breakfast there on our next trip. I told her "sure". Am I in trouble?

We stayed at the BC for our first time in June 2001. It was our first time to stay on-site and of course we loved it. Tried staying off-site last year and it wasn't the same. Is SAB the only resort pool to have sand at the bottom? It felt so good on my tired feet in the afternoon or at the end of the day. How long does it take to get to MK by way of walking to Epcot and taking the Monorail. Last time we took a bus but I don't remember how long it took. I'm tempted to stay at CR or POLY just so I can ride the monorail to MK. What about concierge? Is it worth the extra money? I was thinking of staying the first 2 days in a regular room and having big breakfast and dinners in the parks. Then I though we would reserve the rest of the days with a concierge room. With the food provided I figured we could get buy with smaller meals those days. Has anyone else every done this? My husband doesn't want to change rooms. He says it's too much work but if we do this we could maybe afford one more day. Also I thought that maybe since we were staying with Concierge for most of the trip that we might be able to get a free upgrade for the first 2 days of our trip. Help me please.

OK, I will try to answer the things I know....

I do not remember B&C serving b'fast. I know the Boardwalk bakery across the way has the Mickey Donuts. Here is the menu for the Beaches & Cream B&C menu

If you choose a room for the beginning of your stay and want to add concierge service on, they will let you, with out having to move, Although part of the "concierge" experience is being on the Lounge floor and having a "magic", as the kids call it, key to get access to the floor.

I think with all the FTP bookings that complimentary upgrades will be fewer. I might be wrong. If there are PS's that you want and think might be hard to get, I'd stay concierge. They have extra magic when it comes to PS's.

The walk from the International Gateway to the front of EPCOT is quite a hike. As long as you don't mind the distance, to me that is the most scenic way to get to the MK. Once in the fron hop the monorail.

The bus ride is very short, since the only stops are BC, YC and BW..then off to the MK.

I hope that answered a couple of your questions.

OK...after going round and round, (and the fact that my husband has a new love...Krispy Kreme's), we're thinking Y/C instead of a villa. But I have concerns and I hope you all have answers/ideas. First I should mention that we have stayed Y/C concierge in the early '90's.

1. I seem to remember a bathroom on the concierge 5th floor. My big concern of opting to not stay in a 2 bedroom BC villa is that we'll only have one bathroom. With 3 kids, I'm worried that we'll have bathroom issues and it would be convenient to have a bathroom that we can get to quickly in case one of the kids wait until the last minute to announce they have to potty (and the bathroom in the room is occupied).

2. For those of you that visited the week of Memorial Day, can you rate the concierge busyness, the park crowds (Epcot vs. MK) and space availability at SAB

3. And finally, does anyone know the Concierge (Garden View) rate offered during the end of May/beginning of June?? I believe this is still considered regular season??

Hey guys just a couple of questions and sorry if I'm repeating (I'm at the office and just hoped on). Now DH and I are going around and around about where to stay. We are thinking BC because of the pool (DS will think he's died and gone to heaven). DS is also very afraid of elevators so we need a first floor room any opinions on them? Also in the absense of a coffee shops where can you get a quick cup of coffee etc. Or can you just order a coffee maker for your room as we plan to make a grocery stop on the way to the hotel no matter where we stay. Thanks!

You can request a complimentary coffee maker for your room, at check in. You do NOT get coffee or filters, you have to provide those yourself.

Now for my question - for anyone who has used one of the coffee makers at BC, do you remember what type of filter it used (cone or basket)? We plan to bring our own coffee. I know they make those little filter/coffee all in one things, but we like a particular coffee brand.

We've stayed on the first, second and fourth floors.
The second floor has a set of stairs from the lobby (no elevator required) but I would ask for a room near the lobby in all cases-closer to pool and food etc. Second floor is nice-full balcony, fourth has dormer balcony but you need an elevator to get there.
The first floor had a ground level patio with sliding doors and a small table and two chairs. Quite a bit of traffic goes by (staff carts, grounds people, other guests etc)-make sure you keep your curtains closed when you are in the room.
You can ask for a coffeemaker (3 cups) at check in but bring your own coffee,basket filters(on the smallish side-not full size ones) and sugar. (You can buy milk at the store in the lobby and keep it cold in the ice bucket). We're fortunate-we all drink it black!
