I really just can't stand it when my local nuclear power plant melts down. My hair falls out, my plants and pets die, not to mention my friends, and I have to evacuate my home and go off like miles and miles away, I can't run my AC or breath the air, or drink the water. So annoying.

In all seriousness, I think the mundane things that happen in this country are really falling by the side at the disaster in Japan. Lets all get a little perspective eh? Am I out of line here? I don't know, but nuclear plants melting down just kind of effects me that way, call me weird.

Fair enough, point taken. But, nuclear meltdown isn't part of our everyday consciousness - we couldn't very well survive with a healthy attitude if it were. I'm sure everyone has taken time to think about the horrible events in Japan, but the mundane things - even complaints - are what make all of our days go by!

It does put things in perspective. When I feel myself wanting to complain about something stupid, I think "at least I'm not in Japan". My heart goes out to those poor people, and I believe they had another major aftershock today?

I'm not trying to single anyone out, and we have all been guilty, myself included of complaining about mundane things, but we really are very fortunate all things considered.

I guess hairy legs don't seem all that important now. ;)

Yes, thinking about what those poor people are going through does someone help me to muddle on through my problems a bit easier.

Yes, but I'm still a little creeped out that IdesOMarch is starting threads on the Ides of March.

yes its bad and its terrible what all those are going through but to dwell on it 24 hours a day will put a drain on mental health.
Life goes on.

Just because there are worse thing happening in the world doesn't mean we can't vent about our little every day annoyances.

Since its the Ides Of March, you have to cut me a little slack today. ;)

And yes, nuclear meltdowns are more important than women that don't shave their arms. :goodvibes

If you said the sky was blue you would get an argument. I know, I've done it ;)

definitely puts not getting your perfect ADR time slots and not enough towel animals into perspective - doesn't it?

It is like the feeling you get when a loved one dies and you are riding in the funeral procession and see everyone living and doing daily things (work, eating out, shopping etc.) and your world seems to have stopped.
