Yep, today is the big day ~ 10 years old! We had dinner at Mellow Mushroom tonight, at their request of course and came home for cake and gifts. They are having a party at a place called Rock It Lanes on Sunday. They have an arcade, pool tables, bowling and roller skating. Should be fun! Gonna get my bowl on.

Gas is about $3.59 here.

I love Mellow Mushroom! The party sounds like FUN!

You make me laugh! I just think while she has an amazing voice she is kind of a lackluster performer, ya know? She just stands there and belts it out. Even when she moves around it isn't exciting to watch. Once she gets that down she'll be amazing.

I read an article yesterday somewhere about how the voting process needs to be overhauled and I gotta say I agree. They have to be aware of the whole VFTW bs and they have to know that tween and teen girls can text in votes at the rate of 65497164614797 per minute for young, cute, male contestants, irregardless of their talent or lack there of. Why not make it one vote per landline, cell and internet. Every person could vote 3 times. Then we'd have less a popularity contest and more a talent competition.

But... what do I know?

you know, that's exactly what I've been thinking. But it's like, they only give a crap about making the phone companies money (but really, it won't matter these days anyway what with EVERYONE having UNLIMITED texting!)

It would totally be a talent competition. (however, you'd still have VFTW voting--although, would they just back down if they couldn't mass dial anymore?)

Honestly, I don't even vote anymore. A few years back, I would vote til my fingers fell off...because I knew that it wouldn't make a difference if I didn't. (ie. what the heck is my 1 vote going to do when there are millions of people sending hundreds of votes a piece for their fav) And then VFTW came along, and I was voting like crazy. After that first VFTW season, I was like, I give up. It's just not fun anymore. So I think there are a LOT of people who don't even bother voting at all. It just takes too much effort to make your vote count (ie. vote at least 100 times for your fav singer)

I think the last season that I really voted was with Sanjaya. I wanted him GONE so bad that I would literally put in at least 30 votes a PIECE for every other contestant. B/c VFTW was gunning so hard for him, along with all his teenybopper fans.

Okay I just had a thought. Maybe if they do finally change the voting process, they can make it so that you choose a FAVORITE, and a LEAST FAV. At least for the online votes. So for every "favorite" vote a contestant gets, that is +1 vote. And for every "least favorite" vote they get, that is -1 vote. That way, it would really help to make the ones that least deserve to be there, to GO HOME, and not be kept there unfairly by the VFTW folks.

Okay, I'm off my AI voting soapbox now. So many thoughts...they should hire me!

Happy Sunday ladies (and gents wherever our gents are). I hope everyone is having a fantabulous day! So far my day has been great. Alex slept until about 7am (omg thank you!) and then ate his first bottle. We laid around and watched TV for a bit and ate breakfast. Then I asked Chris to take Alex downstairs for his nap so I could take a shower in peace which was lovely. I even got to shave my legs! Then I decided I really need to start taking care of myself more now that I feel like life is good and so I need to start feeling better about myself too. So I did some exercises and have decided that after today, no more coke for me and I'm gonna try to start eating better too. I want to lose weight and feel really good about myself and look good in pics on our trip in December. I'm totally going for **** status

Nicole ~ I'm thinking about joining weight watchers. I need some tips. Like how it helped you and how you stuck with it and such. I know it's helped you a lot. I need some discipline in my life for sure.

haha I sure hope so! I'd love to be able to love clothes again and look good in them and get rid of this damned muffin top. My clothes actually fit better now post baby. My belly is different from surgery so I'm not complaining about that. If I can just drop the rest of this fat I think I'll finally feel good about myself again.

Sounds like you have a young baby in the house? My boyfriend and I are actually pregnant with our first child. We are due June 3rd. It's nice to see someone else who is fairly new to the whole experience. Glad to hear you got to get some things done on your own this morning.

you're due exactly when I would have been due if my first IVF had actually worked.

My husband and I are struggling to have a baby, and have been for 2 and a half years. It's just miserable.

Yes I do. He will be 4 months old on the 17th. My husband and I tried for 5 years and had to do fertility treatments so he's my little miracle! Congrats on your first child. It is nice to be able to talk to other women about new babies and pregnancy and such. Especially FTM's. Sometimes BTDT mamas are kinda full of it I'm finding. Not the ladies here of course. But on other forums I'm on. How has your pregnancy been so far?

Thanks...I wound up having 2 more LOL. But I DID drink some water so that's a start. I've had one this morning too. I think it's gonna take some time to get out of the habit. I need to have water in the house. I hate tap water and that's what I drank yesterday.
