It's a shame when someone has to die young like he did. I had a brother who also died young from illness, so this is something that means a lot to me and makes me grateful that I am alive.

That is really sad.

Last year at my high school, we had like, 5 people die all year long, all students. One died of the flu, and the rest died in car accidents. It was just so sad, but like you said, it makes you so glad that you're alive. So many people seem to take live for granted and never tell the people they love how they feel. But then when it's too late, they'll never get to do that again.

Yeah.... but anyways... that was a sad article. Thanks for sharing and reminding me at least to live each day like there is not going to be a tomorrow.

That's so sad! I was one of Mattie's fans. His poetry (Heratsongs) is some of the best writing I have ever read....especially from someone his age!

Things like these make you really think don't they? My lil sister's friend died of cancer last year and it was terrible to go to the funeral. And it was such a shame because the little girl loved dancing before she was diagnosed,but 2 months before she died she went on a trip to WDW and she was a special guest somwhere(i can't remember though)

I've heard about him. He has been on Opera and some other shows. He seemed like a really nice kid.
