We got in line for Cinderella and Rapunzel. The wait time said 25 minutes and Linea said 18. We've been standing here almost 55 minutes before finally moving. Get it right people! I never would have gotten in this line I I knew this.

Some kind of extenuating circumstance must have arose. It's unusual for the time to be off that much!

That has happened to us. It was during MVMCP. The wait became over an hour and it was supposed to be 20 minutes. While the parade was going on, the characters stopped meeting with guests because they didn't want some little girl meeting Rapunzel and then walking out and seeing her in the parade.

This happened to me last year in Epcot. We saw the time for the Character Spot only said 10 minutes on the sign and 5 minutes in app so we hopped in line. 45 minutes later we were still in line and had a leave before getting anything done because we had a dining reservation. When we left the sign stated a 60 minute wait. We were pretty annoyed at the time.

Thought I would also mention..... if a CM gives a guest a lanyard with a red tag (their way of checking times from entry of the line to entry of the attraction) and the guest chooses to pocket it for a souvenir or they forget to give it to the CM, this will affect the line time as it has not been correctly reported. This is why CMs might give it to a guest and then give it to another one only 20 down the line.

We had this happen this week at poc. Updated to 50 min after we were in line ended up being 90 min and when we boarded a boat it went to 35 min had to tell a cm but all they did was being it back to the 50 and it was looped to the same point as when we went in

It sounds like the red tag hasn't made its way to the CMs at the front of the line yet, tbh. That's what they use to update wait times.

People actually do that? How ridiculous! We get that red tag several times a trip, I think one day in MK we got 5 or 6 in a day. We definitely always handed them back in and I honestly never even thought it was that big a deal, since it was happening to us so regularly. Maybe we just look really honest? :thumbsup2

I agree though, sounds to me like something very out of the ordinary happened here, because I don't ever recall a wait time being off by that much and they almost always err on the side of caution and waits are a few minutes less than posted, not more.

It happened to us last fall. We got in line to see Ariel showing 10 minutes, we finally got to see her 40 minutes later. Some guy proposed. Very romantic, but sure did mess with everyone else's time.

Yup, people do it. Occasionally they brag about it on forums (along with take 3D glasses home). :sad2: I think some people have their hands full with soaking it all in and they forget about it since it is not something they do for every attraction. I don't think every person does it dishonestly.

That wouldn't make me happy either, but all things considered I think the wait estimates by Disney and even third party apps are remarkable. Even a princess might need an unscheduled break occasionally. :)

stuff happens.
sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
you had the experience that the line was longer than stated but i'm sure you've also had pleasant surprises where the line ends up being shorter than stated.
take the good with the bad and don't let it get you mad.

After a couple of 3 and 5 year old melt downs all was good. I have a red tag now. Should I keep it? Just kidding.

It was around 11. We had ADRs for Cinderella's Castle and we were pressed to get there on time. We got there at 12:12 for our 12:20 reservation.
Thanks for letting me know.
We have breakfast ADR at the castle but my daughter really wants to see Rapunzel. So if she's not there, we will go to the meet -- if she's there. We won't know until after Anna and Elsa move to Epcot.

I'll try harder next time?
