I hate when people start their message with "this is a stupid question but..."
BUT...this time it really is a stupid question with no bearing on my life. Here goes: (eyes squinched shut and nose wrinkled up)

Why do I have a red dot at the bottom of my posts? I noticed that other people have grey or green dots and a white triangle thingy. Have I done something bad? (other than asking a dumb question) Did I draw the attention of an evil tag fairy. I don't like to break rules, I'm a lover not a fighter. What have I done wrong? I will change my wicked ways!!!!!!!

I have never seen a red dot??? Grey means you're not online and green means you are.

It shows your online status. It helps with knowing who is online when sending a PM.

the red triangle thing with an exclamation mark in it is to report a bad post.

If you hold your mouse over the red dot, a tooltip should come up that tells you what it means.

If you click on the person's username on the left, a little menu will appear, next click on send private message.

green means online (or logged in)... gray-ish means offline/not logged in... and red i think means invisible... i do not know how to change it to green/gray though!

I can see the little red triangle in your post, but you can't! The little red triangle isn't in my posts for me either. You wouldn't report yourself! (I hope) You had better watch yourself!

What do you mean by bad post? Everyone appears to have one next to their on line status. Did I miss something?

If you want to report a bad post (in your opinion), hit the red triangle. The moderators will then review it.

Lets see if I have this straight. All posts have a red triangle? And if I don't like someone's post I hit the red triangle? The moderator will see it and perhaps do something about it? Also, is the red triangle for that post only?

yep, that's how it works... basically it is used when someone is flaming another or posts totally off topic (asking a restaurant question in the resort board OH MY! LOL!) and you can see triangles on all posts 'cept your own!
