<font face="comic sans ms"> As most of you know by now ;), I have a very small family left. I've learned to make family out of my friends. Well, I just wanted you to know that having all my new friends is bringing comfort to me at a difficult time of year for me. :D

That was really sappppppppppy. I meant it.

Hugs,
Dayna

Not sappy, it's sweet.

We probably know more about each other than our real families do.

Wishing you the Merriest Christmas Dayna.

P.S. Was looking for your hat in the crowd of the Disney Christmas parade. Didn't see you though.

LOL, Debbie. I'm glad I wasn't the only one looking for familiar faces and lime green lanyards! :D
Dayna, it's not sappy at all. I just spent a half hour talking to my sister in Buffalo about all of you! She couldn't come to the convention this year, but she's going to try to make next years! We don't have any family here, so it's just the 5 of us for Christmas. It's not a bad thing, but I do miss my family a lot. I would have loved to see my nieces and nephew open their gifts from us! I miss that every year. It is comforting to know that I do have a very special group of friends that have become so important to me. I can't wait to see you all again, the sooner the better. Merry Christmas! :)
Tell me you didn't just miss everyone to death while watching the WDW Christmas parade? ;)

Dayna.. hugs.. I understand.. there is hardly any family left here either.. My brother left for Florida.. so it is just the 5 of us plus one future son in law.. Merry Christmas to my DisCon buddies.. extended family..

I LOVE sappy! :D

I do have a lot of family here and around here. But they definitely don't know me (nor understand me ((i.e. my LOVE for DISney ;) )) ) ) as well as some of you do. :) We have a relationship here and The DIS is what bonds us. :)

Love and Hugs to each of my friends here~~~We ARE Family. :) :) :) :) :)

I'm so very glad for all my new friends, too! :D

I watched the parade this morning really hoping to see some of you, but no luck. :( It really brought back some good memories, though - felt like we were watching a video of OUR vacation, with the only thing missing being US! That US includes all of you, too.

I'm in the same situation as a lot of you. I don't have much family left (one of the drawbacks of having been an only child, I guess), and what family I do have isn't around here. We spent last night with Barry's daughters, but it's just the two of us today. It was actually very nice, just spending the day at home together with no pressure to go anyplace or do anything. It's even nicer to have my DIS family to come here and share part of my day with. :D

I hope you're all having a wonderful day. I'm really looking forward to our upcoming DIS meets, and only wish I could come to all of them. :D

My family is very small by most standards. My parents are very busy, and I got to see them for only a little while before they were off to be with my brother and rush off to drive him to the airport. Spent the day until now visiting two nursing homes, and aunt's house and then my inlaws. Drove about 220 total. My poor kids, they just wanted to get home to play with their toys, and I wanted to get home too.

You guys are a great bunch of friends. I have come to feel very at home here with you all. We have become an extended family. I miss you guys, and can not wait to see you guys soon!
Merry Christmas to all of you. Know you are in my thoughts.
HUGS

Dayna,

Sappy is just fine as long as it doesn't involve festive hats (and maybe face painting).;)

I think we all became a large and loving extended family.

Frank

Dayna,
I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels that way.
It was so nice meeting you and many of the others and I am so looking forward to the next time.
I talk about all the others that I met on my last WDW trip to anyone who will listen. And if they're not listening then I drag out my pictures. LOL

I haven't watched the parade yet. I didn't need to be "homesick" on top of everything else yesterday. But I heard it really looked like it was "filmed" instead of videotaped.

In any case, hope everyone had a good Christmas. It's a difficult time of year for some of us, but we always make it through, huh?

Dayna, It is always a little sad at xmas to be without your loved ones. My DH has lost his mom and sister. (His sister died Dec. 23, 15 years ago) so xmas is always a little bittersweet here. And you know about our loss this year. (Our cat :()

I feel like you do. LIke I just got a lot of new firends. And the nice thing is that we all share a special bond, Disney and DisCon. It has been very great this xmas. It seems like every day I was receiving a new card from one of my Dis friends. I can't tell you how great that has been. It has put a smile on my face that just won't come off!

Happy Holidays everybody! {{{HUGS}}}

I grew up in a small family: Christmas was just my parents, my sister, and grandmas. In fact, I always wanted to have three kids or more bc I thought Christmas would be more fun. I imagined that my kids and my sister's kid would make the occasion a riot.
As is, my sister lives now near Seattle and doesn't have kids, just a cat named Oscar. After I got divorced, last year, ex-hubby family keeps distance. I miss my nephew and nieces.
I try to make it fun for the kids: we rehearse carols, make Christmas cards, and they loved to be visited by grandparents and great granny. And yes. They make any Christmas a riot. But I always remember the song...

WE ARE FAMILY...
I'VE GOT ALL MY SISTERS WITH ME
WE ARE FAMILY...
GET UP EVERYBODY AND SING

Karaoke lives on!

Sappy is good Dayna.

I have a lot of family around but good friends are just as important...especially if they understand the "Disney thing". I am so glad that I have a wole new set of wonderful friends who "get it". I hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas.

Dayna sending you lots of good thoughts and {{{HUGS}}}

Sappy is a way of life for me, so my idea is to just be that way and enjoy it!!!!
