This is making me crazy! Previous Winter Olympics question

During the last Winter Olympics there was an athlete from upstate New York who did either the luge or the skeleton and he was really close to his dad, and his dad passed away either right before or right after the Olympics. I think his name was Jim (the athlete, not his dad) and I remember he had an eagle and an American flag on his helment.

Anyone remember who he was? I have searched and searched and I can't find him. It's making me nutso.
