This is just wrong. Prop 8 supporters mapped out on Google maps.

Why is it wrong? If they gave the money, it's public record. Do you think they're ashamed that they gave $$?

I was able to see that someone on my street gave $1200 and someone who we knew years ago from Little League (who is a very strong Mormon) gave $1000.

:thumbsup2 You can see how much I gave to the Obama campaign if you look. So what? If they're ashamed of what they did they ought not have done it.

I don't know (nor care) if they are ashamed or not. They shouldn't be if they voted their conscious.

It shouldn't be public record. That's the point. Besides, how would you feel if the public record was used against you in the form of harassment or worse? Public record is one thing but when it's used for retaliation, that's just wrong.

It's wrong because somebody is compiling that information and giving people an easy tool to harass them. I would be just as upset if people did the same thing for those who voted for gay marriage or any issue. They obviously intend this information to be used in a certain way, otherwise why would they publish it? Peope should be able to support an organization without being harassed for it.

You'd probably feel differently if someone did something to your house or you for voting for Obama.

What? Don't have the courage of their convictions? It's public record SO the PUBLIC can be informed of who is trying to influence their votes.

Are you freakin serious? I live in a bible belt county in a bible belt state. I HAVE been harassed plenty. I don't give a crap. I just put up more signs and replaced the bumper stickers. Some dumb *** tried to run me off the road.

I HAVE the courage of MY convictions.

Why shouldn't it be public record? Too late, anyway. It is. If someone doesn't want their action to be a part of the public record then they should not engage in such actions.

Any action in which I engage, that is a part of the public record is one that I am convinced was the correct action for the given circumstance.

Are there people who object to my actions. Of course. Do they have recourse? As much as anyone else.

It's not some big sinister wrong, wrong, wrong, plot. It's the United States and a matter of (yep, once again) PUBLIC RECORD. :confused3

Don't like it? Don't do it. :confused3

I thought the libs were big on privacy issues. I say publish those lists of the library books they check out. :teeth:

I'm guessing the repubs list would be more interesting. We don't mind people knowing our 'kinks' but those right wingers...:lmao:

Public record, babes.

If you have the nerve to donate, you should have the nerve to admit it. ::yes::

To me there is a huge difference between something being on public record (which requires a certain amount of effort to find) and somebody assembling and publishing a list like this when the most obvious intention is harassment. I don't care what your beliefs, you do not deserve to be threatened or harassed over it. It has nothing to do with the courage of your convictions.

We'll have to agree to disagree. :upsidedow

I support gay marriage, but this current action is the equivalent to pro life extremists posting addresses of doctors who provide abortions.

Influenced in what way? So those people can be harassed? :confused3 What do you think the purpose of this map is? So you can say "wow, who knew my neighbor was a homophobe!"?

Voting is private. So should who you support financially. The information should be recorded kept private unless needed for a criminal investigation.
