I noticed while reading the All Ears newsletter over my coffee this morning, that the Haunted Mansion at Walt Disney World will close for refurbishment Nov. 6-15.

I'm only guessing, mind you, but wouldn't that seem like an ideal time to introduce the Pirate Quest at WDW?

i have heard from VMK Central at WDW that the Pirate quest will start middle of Oct.

Haunted Mansion is my favorite attraction in the MK, and I was
so looking forward to getting the HM quest stuff. Auuuggghhh!!!

I was fortunate enough to be at DL when the Pirate's quest was introduced into the tour last week. In addition to the Pirate's cards, we were awarded the Haunted Mansion room card. No one there, including my VMK tour guide, could do any more that speculate as to how long the Pirate's quest would be a part of the tour.

I asked our guide just this question when we had a few minutes one-on-one (he sat next to me on the train ride back to Tomorrowland near the end of the tour), and he said that his best guess was that the Mansion quest would come back to the tour when Pirates goes down for a refurb, tentatively set for February. After that, he had no idea as to whether they would be both interchanged tour quests or if one might appear on the racks as a regular quest. He also thought that WDW would continue with the Mansion quest until early Nov., when the Mansion gets its holiday decoration install. By the way, that is why the Pirate's quest started last week at DL...the Mansion was closed to receive its Halloween makeover.

I know that's not very definitive, but I don't think anything is written in stone so even VMK staff are just speculating at this point. Hope that helps!

I just wish they would go a head and announce when they will be starting the pirate quest at WDW. So many people have so many different theories. If I actually knew when it would be, I could plan for my trip (I'm a big planner of Disney trips, even if it's only for the day)
