Just wondering do the locals stay away on busy times cause of the line and not using fotl or it doesn't stop them. Just wondering what easter weekend will be like? thanks!

I think most stay away during the busy time, unless they have family visiting.

:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Many of the locals go because that is the time that their kids have off for school holidays also. I know whenever Orlando schools are out, the parks are full.

I don't have kids in school but I go whenever I feel like it and don't worry about crowds, one way or the other. I know how to beat the crowds and have my touring plan down to a science.

Locals basically go whenever, because they usually have AP's (if you've ever seen an AP event, you know how many there are. It's a nightmare). So we don't have to worry about getting everything done in a day. Crowds don't matter to most of us.

When we go over without staying onsite for a couple days, it's always early since we don't spend the whole day anyway and leave when it gets too crowded. Personally we avoid the more crowded weekends and generally do most of our visiting from October to May.

i am a local, and no matter what time of year it is.. i go during the weekends, and try to go on the weekdays...

when i go...i have gone there so many times, my friend and i play cards in the monsters cafe, while we are waiting for the lines to die down... and we also count how many disney things people wear to universal, and how many people have non- natural colored hair... it is pretty fun...

we never waite in a line longer than 10 min. long... but we have waited in the line of the hulk when it was 30 min... that is only because that roller coaster is worth it...

it is fun to see the faces on the 'non-locals' when you are playing cards in the monsters cafe, or when you draw in mels diner, or even playing hangman waiting for a show to start, only sing a hot dog wrapper and a pen that you get from one of the employees... good times^___^

It's also kinda funny to see people looking at us strange when we are walking out at 10:30 or 11am while they are herding in. If it's too busy, we just call it an early day. Love to people watch as well but we usually sit on the benches across from Mel's. I like looking at people's shoes - or should I say bad chioces in footwear for walking the parks :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think the parents drop off their kids and use it as day care when there is no school. That's why I print the school calendar for Osceola county. You can do the same here.

i go almost every week day i can
during the weekends its not so bad unless there is something there(mardi gras)
but even on last saturday it wasn't all that bad

Why Osceola instead of Orange County?
I think they are both very close to Universal, I would probably print both of them out if either. I just come up from Miami when I have the time for a few days .. tho I'm going up for a day or two in a week.

LMAO!!! You sound like me and my friends. We spend most of our day playing on the DDR machine, hanging out in the restaurants doing whatever...mostly just chilling and talking. Othertimes I'm just walking around the park listening to my iPod...sometimes lipsyncing along. Hahah...not to mention I *did* used to draw before GB Shows way back when. I like hanging out at the park to just 'hang out'. In fact, I'm wanting to bring my huge 18" by 24" sketchbook to draw some of the scenery of the park...I'd love trying to get thru the turnstiles with THAT! :rotfl:

As to the OP's question, I usually do not go during busy times...but exceptions include Mardi Gras, or if I need to get back to USO ASAP because I feel deprived...then I don't care about crowds because I don't focus on rides anyway. :)

lol... when i see some one with an 18" x 24" scetch book, i will be sure to ask you if you are flyfly eclips... lol.. adn most likely i will join you in your drawings. we splayed ghostbuster hangman when we would waite for the shows to come on. it was alot of fun.
i am going this weekend, and i plan to bring my sketch book, my friend and i's roleplay, my cd player, and connect four. we are going to have alot of fun waiting for lynard skynard to start with the show... for marti gras^___^

Universal isn't close to Orange, it's in Orange.

I know, i meant both counties are around Universal Studios, as Osceola is next door. I'm from Miami, it isn't my fault :D

I guess we'll have to start mentioning both counties.
Orange is 05/25 (with seniors getting out on 05/20). Osceola is 05/23.

So anyone visiting before the 20th is going to be ok. Then the crowds will gradually rise as school kids start hanging out in the park.
