This is either madness... or brilliance; declansdad, pooksma and declan...update10/16

I'm finally caught up! What a great surprise! WOW! Concierge with a view of MK. Amazing! :thumbsup2 Can't wait to start reading your pre-trippie about your adult only trip. :cool1:

EMH was good except for this really rude guy and his family on RnR. He was in the single rider line with his 3 kids and they all wanted to ride together. The line up was super long that night. By the time we got to the front, he was arguing, quite loudly, with the CM who told him (a) Sir you were in the worng line for this, and (b) I won't be able to get you all together, two will have to ride as singles. Needless to say, the guy was loudly rude to the CM. (note: If YOU are this guy- give it a rest-YOU were in the worng here):rolleyes1

Final Thoughts:
Loved POP again. Glad to spend time at Epcot. Great to do the thrill rides with DS. P and P Party is way cool. Still need to get a slower pace to enjoy some things (this is why an Adults only trip is in the planning)

Poly was incredible. Want to try others too. Hats off to Sam our fab driver. We will ask for you a third time!

DS' comment as we entered the Super8 in Bangor for our sleep before driving home- " Why are we staying here? We are never staying here again. I want to go back to the Poly."

I am sure DH will also have some final thoughts. Thanks to our readers and inspirers. Look out for the pre-trippie for our Mom and Dad gone wild trip!

So sad that this is coming to an end because it will really feel like our trip is over.

As pooksma said our last full day was a bit low-keyed. Declan and I did take out a sea racer for 90 minutes. We used the coupon that came with our Pop package. I didn't want to take my camera so I gave ds a disposable water-proof camera that I had for our trip to Typhoon Lagoon. (A trip we didn't take again. We still have those extras on our passes from our first trip in 2004.)

Declan went a little crazy with the camera and we had a great time. Here are a few pictures.

Our last night at the Studios was a blast. We thought about Fantasmic again but past on it for a few more rides. Declan really likes the GMR so we did that. The CM's were as good this time and we got the gangster scene again but it was still fun.

The queue for RnR (our last ride) was a bit of a wait but we met some nice people in line and it helped with the wait. The father that pooksma told you about was something. I eneded up sharing a car with one of the kids and I don't think he said anything the entire ride.

Leaving the parks for the last time is always sad. I always try to get that one last shot to help remember it. This what I got this time.

Sorry I know that is two but I like the both.

All that is left is our final morning and flight home so I think I will leave that until tomorrow. Night all.

Declan is "Poly-spoiled", huh? That might not be good for your future. He may not want to stay at Pop any more! That could mean picking up some extra jobs!:)

I love the kid's-eye view out on the sea racer. I bet that was fun. Trent and Kristi thought about doing that, but by the time they rode a little, ate a little, swam a little, and worked out a little every day, they never got to it.

I wish you had taken 365 pictures at Pop for the PC picture thread. It's way too early for you to be finished, or almost finished! We still have another nine months or so before you go back. Even though we are staying at All-Star Music at Christmas, we will of course visit Pop just because we have to and want to, and we'll bring back tie-dyed cheesecake to put in the freezer and nibble on during cold January and February dreary days when we need a pick-me-up. I'll try to make more time for pictures this time, and hopefully I'll get some good ones of the holiday decorations.

Did you stay you were staying at French Quarter next year? Maybe I'm imagining. Jill and I went there one evening during this last trip, and she told John that's where she wants to stay when they go next September. It is very pretty.

It's sad to hear about the guy waiting in line. It's pitiful parenting when adults act so ridiculous, especially in front of their kids. So often, when I've had problems with a student and the parent has come for a conference, I can easily see within a few seconds why the kid is like he/she is. Those kids will probably grow up with the same bad attitude. Maybe we can hope he was just having an extremely bad day, and that wasn't the norm, but probably not.

I still hope you will get to stay at AKL in the future. I know you had your heart set on it. I'm glad your experience at Poly was good, though, to compensate. I've enjoyed the report and the pictures. If you have never been to the Halloween party, you really should think about taking Declan sometime. I think you would all love it! Hopefully, our pictures will convince you to try it some day.

After spending much too much time on the pop photo thread, and enjoying all of your awesome pictures, I realized you had a trip report, which I'm sure is filled with more great pictures, so I came on over, and am enjoying the pre-trippy, and can't wait to read more. But, I've been neglecting my son, and must go now, but I'll be back to catch up later. I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful trip. We just booked for april and will be staying at pop, and my son will be turning 6 in december, so I'm sure I'll find lots of great tips here. Oh, maybe I'll read just a little bit longer.:guilty:

Wow! I can't believe your TR is over. Thanks for sharing it, it was fun. Have fun on your adults only TR, but keep in mind you could always take a Disney babysitter with you and then take Declan with you too another time. That way you can have as much adult time as you want, while Declan has fun too! :thumbsup2

Thanks to all that have read and enjoyed our TR. Trip for Mommy and Daddy is in the planning stages...

Hey all,

Sadly this is it.

Our last morning was pretty low keyed. We had breakfast at the Kona Cafe. Got to try the coffee - best coffee on property. :thumbsup2

We finished our packing and called the concierge to have our luggage picked up. (Does that sound pretentious?) :lmao:

We took a few more pictures.

At last it was time to make our way to the front to meet up with our great driver from Tiffany's, Sam.

A few more shots while waiting:

and then we had a bit of a scare. I went to get our luggage and the attendant took my slip and went off to find it. After a few minutes he came back and asked that I come with him to the storage area because he couldn't find it. We looked and looked but it wasn't there. I could feel the panic setting in. We went back outside and luckily we found it by the luggage desk. What a relief!!

Shortly after that, Sam arrived and whisked off to the airport to finish another great visit to WDW. We didn't have long to wait at the airport before taking off to Cincy, where we had about a 3.5 hour wait. We arrived in Bangor around 10:30, gathered up our bags, found the Jeep and headed for the Super 8. I do believe it was the original Super 8. :lmao: Won't be staying there again. We made our way home the next day, with a few shopping stops in Bangor.

Thank you all for joining us in our report. It has been lots of fun telling you about our trip and reading about many of yours. Hopefully on day, we will all get to have a big Dis Meet at WDW.

I do invite you to check out all our pictures. Just click on the link in my signature. I also have a couple of videos at youtube. Check out declansdadca (user name) or here is a link to our Test Track ride.

Take care and hope to keep keep in touch with our new Dis friends.

It's good to hear from you, but sad that it's the end of the trip. I'll miss your updates and pictures, but I know you'll be hanging around the trip report boards and the PC picture thread, as well as making plans for a fabulous trip next year.

I like the picture of Declan and Mom. Someday he'll be hugging on her and hovering over her without having to stand on a chair!

I hope you guys will enjoy many years ahead of great Disney family vacations. Maybe one of these years our paths will cross on a Disney trip, and I'll get to meet Declan in person. Until then, I'll enjoy your pictures and reports, and think of you guys whenever I'm in Canada (Epcot) or whenever Canada comes up here at school or I see it on TV.

Try to stay warm up there as you're dreaming of your next trip south. I haven't watched the Test Track video, but I'll do that soon. Have a great day, and thanks again for the work of putting the trip report together for our enjoyment.

Thanks for the great report! I am still amazed at the wonderful upgrade you got! I hope you will be able to enjox AKL another time, but in the end, it worked out really great for you to not stay there.

(And by the way, I still haven't started my DLRP report...)

Hello everyone

Not really an update to our trip but rather an update to say that our Mom and Dad trip is now officially booked.

August 5th to 12th, pooksma and I will be spending our first adults only vacation in 7 years at POFQ.

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

What a great report! Thank you for taking the time to write it and share it with us.

Are you going to do one for your next trip?

Thanks.

We will probably do another. I have done one for each trip so far; although, this was the first we did together.

Very exciting! Let the countdown begin! I went to POFQ just a couple of weeks ago, hoping to see a big Christmas tree. They were going to put it up just after we left, unfortunately. I love the peacefulness and the quaint feeling of that resort. You have a lot to look forward to during these cold winter months.

Jill, Brooklynn, and I will be back down on Christmas evening, hopefully in time to see Christmas fireworks from somewhere on the outskirts of MK. We don't hold out any hope of getting in, but just getting in on any of the Christmas night excitement will be cool.

I hope all is going well with your school year. Is Declan getting any great things for Christmas? Every child here in third grade tops their list with some kind of video game, then they move on to normal toys, games, clothes, books, etc. There will be gazillions spent on video games if they all get what they're asking for!!!
